**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I think i might just keep my pre-orders in and wait until the 'Mericans get the consoles and review them which should then help me come to a conclusion.

What games have a before Christmas release? Is there a list yet or just the launch list?
The following are all the day one games...

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
Battlefield 4
Call of Duty: Ghosts
Crimson Dragon
Dead Rising 3
FIFA 14
Fighter Within
Forza Motorsport 5
Just Dance 2014
Killer Instinct
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes
LocoCycle
Madden NFL 25
NBA 2K14
NBA Live 14
Need for Speed: Rivals
Peggle 2
Powerstar Golf
Ryse: Son of Rome
Skylanders: Swap Force
Watch Dogs
Zoo Tycoon
Zumba Fitness: World Party

I honestly don't think we'll see any additional games between the release and Christmas, not retail releases anyway. There will possibly be some arcade titles of some description.

Hmmm so it turns out I still have my ShopTo pre-ordere aswell as Amazon. Worth holding on to both to eBay one on release day you think? Hard to gauge availability/demand at the moment so not sure.

I personally wouldn't keep one purely to eBay it and profit from it, but that's just me.

Cancel it or sell it to a friend who was unable to get a pre-order? I Preordered 2 xbox 360s and they both arrived on release, I could have eBayed one for a profit but my friend wanted one so I sold him it at cost.

I don't think the demand will be there for the One to push the price up. I pre-ordered via Amazon and could only pre-order the standard edition, few days later i get an email saying it is now a Day one edition.

Think I'll wait and see until closer to the time, I didn't even know I had a ShopTo pre-order until I got an email asking to upgrade to a bundle. Fair enough to all of you who wouldn't sell on for profit, I'm a capitalist pig so I will :p. Ofcourse friends who missed out get first dibs though, but if there are none of them are interested and the profits worth it via eBay that's where it will end up.

I wouldn't be so sure. It's all down to demand. I remember the 360s going for like £700 on ebay due to them being sold out everywhere.

Has anyone heard anything about the relative driver/API environments of the two consoles. I know XO is going to be using DirectX 11.2 and Ps4 something similar from Sony. Just given the effect drivers and APIs can have on games from experience with PCs I was wondering if we'd heard anything around the relative merits of the two systems?

I've not seen anything, and like most other things at the moment, I don't think it's something we'll get any proper information about until nearer retail release and the various websites have got their own consoles to test.

I'm still sticking with my guess of 5th November. I hope MS announce it at PAX next week. Assuming they won't just randomly announce it at some point, PAX is the last conference where it makes sense for them to announce the date. It won't be TGS as they're not releasing it over there any time soon, so it's either PAX, or just a random announcement when they manage to finalise the dates.
More rumours from retail seem to be surfacing at different sites around Nov 8th in the US... Hopefully with the reduction of launch countries MS can launch outside the US on the same day, it'd give XO almost a month head start over PS4 in the UK if they can. :D Having said that on performance to date this year I'm not going to underestimate MS ability to miss an opportunity or screw something up at the last second ;)

True but back the 360 was the only next gen console on the market. The PS3 was at least 6 months way from release. Even then, when the PS3 was released, people got greedy thinking it would be the 360 situation all over again. Trying to sell them on Ebay for stupid amounts of money, turns out the PS3 wasn't selling well in the first place due to the high RRP and Ebay was full of unsold PS3's.

Might be the same situation with the Xbox One, especially when most are going for the PS4 due to the lower price tag.

Too much info to trawl through but i got an email from Game saying that Fifa 14 will be pre-loaded on the day 1's. Is it just a case of loading it up and buying it through the game?
