Xbox One X

Recently bought a PS4 pro (I game at 1080p) didn't see the point in buying a normal PS4 as a pro was only a bit extra and there is a difference at 1080p... I can't get used to the PS4 pad. I just like the xbox controller to much, but the PS4 exclusives are great..... I'm tempted to sell the PS4 and buy an X but then I lose out on all the exclusives

You can get adapters to use a Xbox one controller on a ps4

My Scorpio edition one x died last night (RIP!)

Got a refund from Argos and was all set to buy a standard X as I'm not too bothered now tbh
But should I wait until after the Microsoft e3 conference to buy the X as I'm thinking they might do a special bundle of even a time price drop???
I have to buy from Argos as it's credit there

It's less than 2 weeks now so debating what to do!

So as for these loud and quiet xbox one x, if I buy a new one from amazon should it be OK?

Also I'd only be running at 1080p, anything I should know?

Had mine since December and it's been quiet. it seems the majority of faulty ones are th Scorpio editions.

I play at 720p, runs far better than the original and s models, I get consistent frame rates in the games I play.

X1X runs older games much better with higher FPS & superior AF texture filtering as well so no reason not to buy even if you do not have a 4K display & HDR. 4K HDR TV is best though as it displays the full experience.

Hi as you can see form my videos a few posts back I bought the Scorpio edition from amazon and was always that loud. I read so many having a quiet console I decided to by another one from amazon but it’s the normal edition and is way quieter not silent but a lot quieter . Both from amazon and both built within a couple of months from each other.

It’s not faulty it’s just a gpu/cpu lottery as some will produce more heat than others and if it produces more heat the fans will ramp up more and making more sound

I am keeping the normal edition and sending the Scorpio back. Not only that I got an extra controller and two games for the same price I paid for the Scorpio.

Amazon have a 4 game extra controller deal on at the moment.

Also what I did notice when testing I sat the other Xbox on top of the other and the one on top would produce less sound, switched them and the same thing happened.

The fan from the back was reflecting the sound from the bottom of my unit and amplifying it. So I have raised the quieter Xbox and is even less noisier using a stand I built so the sound does not bounce from the bottom of the unit.

Have not tried standing it on its side to test that might have to

Agreed, literally no benefit from an X at that resolution.

If there are no plans for them to upgrade to 4k - a fool and his gold are easily parted...

I thought I justified my purchase In The post?

I've come from playing PC to console and I can't stand the frame rate dips the One S suffers. With the one X I get consistent framrates on Battlefield, better performance on pubg and literally every other game I have bought.

I don't regret my purchase at all, as I regularly go between my parents one s and my x and can always see the difference.

Hi folks

This may have been asked before but where are the enhanced graphics options on Doom? I know a 4k patch has been released but there doesent appear to be an 'enhanced' option anywhere in settings.

I don't think there's anything user selectable, it's all automatic.

DF were hoping another patch would be released which would let the user choose but I don't know if that's happened or not yet (if it ever will).
