Xbox One X

About 4 years :)

I think you've had your money's worth from it... :)

Worth hitting up MS to see if they'll replace it anyway.

I tried to find out how long AA batteries last in the controller as Amazon sell large packs of their own brand batteries pretty cheaply so you might be better off buying them rather than the charge kit. I do think it's a bit ridiculous that the controller isn't rechargeable by default, if even Nintendo are doing it and not charging for an add-on then MS should too!

Alternatively you could pick up a cheap AA battery charger, they usually have 4 batteries so you can always have a couple charged ready to swap (providing you don't need them for a second controller), probably cost you five to ten quid.

I was playing battlefront 2 and it just froze a few times then made a recurring buzzing noise like an audio loop. Crashed back to dashboard and was unresponsive. Tried rebooting and all the usual tricks.

I just get this error code E105 00000000 8007045D.

Probably put around 130 hours on it since I got it.

They should be giving a live code free for a year for all the bloody hassle and why did they use Seagates? The one big fail on the X is not being able to easily swap out the hard drive, don't get me wrong it's not ideal but if you get this E105 error which seems fairly common at least with the ability to swap out the drive we could at least attempt a repair ourselves if we have a comparable drive lying around.

Well just sat on MS chat and I do love a good bit of banter with the yanks.

Off she goes to Germany. Is that the issue then, wonky hard drives?

Anyone else switched their xbox x on and been greeted with a message that says something along the lines of "your tv supports 4k switch now", despite already having the console set up with 4k settings.
its only happened once so far on my current X but I did get it once on my other faulty X.

Must just be a bug, I just hit no do not switch to 4k and it boots into the xbox menu as normal, all my settings are already in 4k with all the green ticks and playing games in 4k/HDR is fine.

I'm convinced the last dashboard update which changed everything is still full of bugs. Even my OG Xbone does weird things now like not finding wireless networks.

I've had that exact message too, on a 1 week old One X.

Does anyone use the elite controller? Is it worth getting as in do the paddles make a difference when gaming? Looking at getting one if it's worth the premium otherwise I'll just add a second controller to match the black theme of the X once I sell my white S and two white controllers.

Worth getting but there is a new one coming soonish. Also, keep your receipt as the current model has a pretty high failure rate in my experience.
