Microsoft and
@Bethesda
have entered into an agreement in which Microsoft will acquire Bethesda Softworks and its studios.

Plus.. M$ money towards the next Elder Scrolls game? Or as one comment writes.. from Skyrim to $kyrim

Big news, but I don't see how this is a good thing for those of us who don't want to buy both consoles. Sony will surely have to respond with their own acquisition?

As a gamer, I really should not want that to happen. They ought to come to PS5 as well. But the devil in me is rooting for MS this coming gen and if they are in it for a fight, they should keep all those forthcoming titles to themselves. The only thing they may be thinking of is that they will be free on Game Pass Day One whereas PS5 owners will have to fork out the £70 for them. Could be a factor that swings things in their favour without causing mass upset.

Thinking about multi platforms. Maybe the world is changing? Microsoft are, definitely. I would never of thought we'd see Ori 1 + 2 and Cuphead on the Switch. So who knows what will happen? Interesting times.

But the key point is we’re still Bethesda. We’re still working on the same games we were yesterday, made by the same studios we’ve worked with for years, and those games will be published by us.

Potentially. I feel like MS are going for Sony’s jugular and timing it well.
I think MS is trying to transform console gaming into a subscription based model with Game Pass. It makes business sense.

What a bonus. I won't have to shell out for Doom Eternal now. So with all of EA's offerings that I haven't played like the Star Wars games, Bethesda's stuff like Evil Within 2 and older Xbox stuff like Viva Pinata, I shall be so happy to get an Xbox.
