This is why I only bother owning 1 console now days, don't get loads of game time, but enjoying CP2077 since next gen update, and have MSFS 2020 which I play on and off and have Elden Ring still to play.
When I owned both ps4 and xbox 1, either would gather dust for long periods and I hated that fact.

I do similar. I have an Xbox and Nintendo console for a generation then buy a PlayStation and all the top games for peanuts at the end of the generation.

This works out well as all the good Sony exclusive games are one-time playthrough single player games. I can complete them all in a few months and sell the system and games on for zero cost.

I use the Xbox for game pass and online multiplayer games throughout the generation and the Nintendo console for local multiplayer and portable gaming.

It's good that gaming isn't so restrictive price-wise like in the old days. It should be able to be enjoyed by people from all sorts of socio-economic backgrounds.
My parents were not well off so I would just get a PlayStation game on Christmas and my birthday but now for like 10 quid a month you can give your kid access to loads. It was a completely unthinkable scenario as a kid to think that would even be possible.

And the funny thing is, despite being an adult now and having a job, I am way more picky. For example, gran turismo 7 on PS5 is a £60/70 game that has been purposely tailored (unable to sell cars like previous games and carefully curated rewards) to push you towards microtransactions to buy the currency needed to get some cars. Easy vote with my wallet even if it's 'just' £30 via Turkish store.
Whereas on game pass you get the barebones game included at least which to me is definitely the lesser of two evils.

Well finally managed to get a series X. Surprised at how heavy it is, compared to the ps4 pro.

Loving it so far, any tips on cleaning up the disaster that's the dashboard? Would like it with just games installed showing but haven't found a way to do that

Took me a few years to get back into gaming after moving to Queensland AU. It being bright and hot 90% of the time it felt wrong sitting inside.

When I load Guardians of the galaxy from game pass it looks all washed out, Blackless and it flickers. I have deleted it and re-installed but no luck. Other HDR games look fine and I played this through on launch with no issues. Anyone have any idea ?

Long shot but is auto hdr switched on for your xbox, I remember there is/was a bug where Mass Effect LE was still using auto hdr despite it being a native hdr game? Must admit it didn't have that effect though, it just made the image darker.

Just tried it with Auto HDR disabled and it’s still the same. It’s only this game that does it as far as I can tell… It’s weird.

Turning HDR off completely seems to fix it. Must be some kind of weird HDR issue ?

It might be an issue with the sliders on the game and I appreciate there are different setups involved. However I do think there's different levels of HDR implementation out there. Personally when I played both Fallout 76 and Destiny 2 on Xbox One X I had to switch HDR off at system level with both games to fix HDR problems. And it's a real annoyance when you have to switch HDR off system wide because of one game.

I've recently taken delivery of a Series X but haven't had much time to spend with the system to see if the same issues persist.

It works fine for me in HDR. I tried the ray teaching mode but 30fps is horrible so I’m going back too performance mode.

No idea whenever I load it with HDR enabled it’s all washed out. No other game does it that I have tried and I played through it when it first came out without issue… I have tried all settings etc but nothing helps. Tbh I’m completely stumped….

Just tried PS5 version with HDR and it works ok… Weird

Just had a thought with this because I think we have the same TV. Is it something to do with Dolby vision being enabled? That is the only difference I can think of between the two consoles display wise.

COD Cold War looks like this when I have Dolby Vision enabled, washed out and yellow.
