I had the game freeze once after spending a large amount of time trying to complete a mission, which I hadn't saved mid-game

Bit bored of this now, mostly due to repetitive maps. It was good while it lasted but I don't think I can force myself to complete it. :/

Looking forward to the expansion. I hope it adds some much need polish and variety that the base game sorely lacked.

I never did complete EU, I could only play the game in Ironman mode and I rather liked to roleplay it too.

My favourite characters got pwned, restart.... This happened an appalling number of times.

Think it was €10 on Steam a weekend or two ago. It'll probably come down again when Enemy Within comes out.

Got this during the summer sale and only just started playing it yesterday, really enjoying it so far, i can see it getting repetitive but it'll be one of those games I finish anyway

Right - I thought that when you had a satellite over a country, that country wouldn't be subject to Alien Abduction missions, or at least you'd get the chance to shoot the UFO down first? That hasn't happened for me, my latest AA mission has one of the three options as a country with a satellite. What's going on?

do you have interceptors in those countries

I have two interceptors in each continent (where that continent has a country with a satellite).

Gah, think I have messed my first playthough up

. I left building new space craft too late and now I have some new type of UFOs that my normal interceptors cant kill or even keep up with. Had to skip past 3 ufos and lost one of my satellites while I wait for the new ships to be built and also went from all 1-2 bars of panic to half the countries having 3-4 bars lol.

I was really enjoying it till that point. Seems a bit hard for a total beginner to this type of game. I have only really played fps and rpg type games before, so this is totally new for me.

Also had a fair few crashes now mid game

and as a result saving seems to have messed up. It'll save sometimes but not others and often my last few saves have gone when I load the game up.

I'm finding that too mark, had to start again when I realised I hadn't researched certain elements fast enough and then can't do what I need to fast enough. I'm not sure it's scripted though, this play through feels completely different.

I complted the new Xcom Enemy unknown and although its ok it lacks the depth of the original and these other 2 remakes that are true to the original.

Sounds like it might have some replay value then if it pans out differently each time you play. I think i'll choose a few different abilities if i play though again. I'm finding that not being able to take a shot after moving my snipers very annoying.

I had to miss a few more ufos and unfortunately Australia and Egypt have now done one

, but the rest aren't too panicked, so hopefully i'll be ok.

Kitted all my main 6 soldiers out with titan armour and plasma weapons now, so hopefully it wont be as hard in combat.

It can be a bit if you're not careful, but I'd still take squadsight over snapshot any day.
