How many times do I have to say that this has nothing to do with your personal experience, it doesn't even have anything to do with mine. This is to do with their aftersales and support as a whole, which now has a solid reputation for being abysmal.

Yes, I know you have an XFX card. Their products are (mostly) fine, it's their aftersales and support that is dire.

You're practically pretending a problem doesn't exist, and you out-right said I was "wrong" (direct quote.) Problem is, no matter how much I back up my point, you're too obsessed with defending XFX's honour.

All I am saying is, yes there might be a chance of him getting bad aftersales support, but you cannot deny the fact that there is a chance to be the same as me receiving perfectly good support.

But why risk it? OcUK won't, so why should us consumers?

They have a bad reputation now, it's well deserved, and as Gibbo said; Other companies like BFG, EVGA, etc. offer much better service, so why bother risking it with a company fresh from a PR disaster when you can rest assured you're buying from a company who knows how to handle things?

Stop pretending there isn't a problem. I'm not asking you to **** them off, but outright telling me I'm wrong in the face of evidence is just audacious.

You didn't read did you. To me, BFG, eVGA, XFX has all so far been perfectly fine for me personally.

Just that in the case of 8800GTX I decided to go for XFX.

It all comes down to personal experience and preference towards a certain brand. Surely when I first bought these 8800GTX, XFX cards are not priced any much lower than BFG's and eVGA's

No, I did read, and I can understand that you personally have had no bad experiences, however, from a completely unbiased point, we cannot recommend them to the OP for the very reasons that have been listed in this thread. Go with a company with a spotty track record, or others which much cleaner slates...its not a hard one.

well ive never had any XFX products so i cant comment but i represent gigabyte all the way, i have a gigabyte motherboard and GPU and will continue to buy gigabyte gfx cards and mobos as they are bulit to high quality and have good support:D

Yeah, I wasn't having a go, just a cheeky jest. The guys in here love fanboy discussions you see, followed closely by 8800GTX discussions. :D

Haha, unfortunately true, always good for the popcorn manufacturers though ;)

I've certainly never heard of - or had - any major issues with XFX... in fact I personally recommend them to friends (except when they want to go ATI of course )

In fact my last 2 cards have been XFX ones as well.

Quoted from a staff of another BIG e-tailer. The direct competitor of OcUK, you guys should know who it is.

While I am it, I shall double check with Pine Technology and XFX regarding OcUK's claims.

Even if its a few people who had such bad experiences from XFX i want to stear clear of them. The fact Ocuk does not stock their products anymore and the information about them closing their forums and customer support even if for a short period has disgusted me.
Thanks for all the replies and gibbos quote even if it did turn into a bit of a fan boy thread! I will probably go with gibbos reccomendations in that quote and get a BFG or EVGA card :)

btw i dont want to start an argument or anything but the quote from that D guy sounds like hes just trying to sell XFX cards :p sure gibbo could be doing the same, then again i trust him having read more than one of his posts

Nothing wrong with XFX, their support has been good to me over the years and i'll continue buying there products.. I'm probably never going to buy anything from OCUK again so I really don't care what they do or don't stock or what reasons they give. :)

Must be an OcUK/Ulfhedjinn conspiracy to bring down XFX then.

Gibbo and I must be on the BFG payroll, or maybe the EVGA payroll!

Oh crap I have an ATI card, maybe it's an ATI plot to bring down XFX! :D
