just wondering, why dont you guys stock these cards? I know of a place that gets around 5-10 in a week at a price cheaper than any other gtx on ocuk (apart from your current ocuk branded card offer)
Are these cards poorer in quality in some way? i dont want to buy from a manufacturer that has unpublicised problems...

Yeah, I would avoid XFX these days. They just don't seem to pull their finger out.

BFG, EVGA, MSI and to a lesser extent Leadtek are by far the best Nvidia partners. :)

Wrong. XFX is a very big partner of Nvidia. And I am pretty sure XFX's 8800GTS/GTX has no issue or whatsoever, it is the same as other brands.

Yes, that's why OcUK don't deal with XFX anymore. Because their aftersales is just fine and dandy.

Jesus, and easyrider accuses me of justfying my purchases. You're just a hoot.

I've owned XFX cards myself, I had a 6800GT by them and it went back after a fortnight because it broke. That wasn't the problem though, crap happens, but the fact that XFX practically ignored the RMA for a good two months and then almost refused to deal with the problem was what put me off them.

And this was before the lovely 7900GT/helpdesk incident which got them banished from OcUK. :)

Oh yeah, a fine company. A+ for laziness and attitude from them.

Edit: Also, I just realised. Where did I say anything about the product? I was talking about their aftersales?

Doesn't matter how big you are, they still have crap support, if anything, the bigger the company, the worse their support.

Dell are a good example of that one :p

I never had any problem with them or whatsoever before.

Tough to be you I guess.

Yeah, they got banished from OcUK because I'm in a very small minority of people who have had problems with their company and in reality they handle things so bloody well.

Seriously, you must have the ultimate rose-tinted shades on to be ignoring this.

Well, I personally never had problems with XFX, so why do I have to **** along with those who have problems with XFX?

I'm not saying you have to **** them, I'm just saying that you're in denial about the problems that exist. You popped up and said "wrong" and that's an exact quote, when in fact it is you who is wrong.

Don't try to tell people they're wrong about problems with a company when the problems are very real and bad enough to cause the UK's leading etailer of high-end computer components to banish them.

I want to hear the 7900/helpdesk story please?!
When the 7900GTs were suffering from a 5% failure rate (mostly in XFX and EVGA factory overclocked cards), XFX became renowned for having abysmal customer support. Their forums were in complete uproar with a horde of unhappy customers, and XFX went as far as shutting down the forums and their customer support with the excuse that they were "reorganising their helpdesks."

When XFX customer support was opened again, people still weren't getting any help, and from what I hear they weren't too helpful for OcUK when RMAs had to be dealt with either. For (mostly) these reasons, OcUK don't stock their products anymore.

OcUK is only one of the few e-tailers that probably doesn't stock XFX.

As far as I know, most e-tailers/retailers in the US/UK/Hong Kong/Singapore/Taiwan/Japan etc all stocks XFX.

And XFX won't die losing OcUK tbh. Lol.

Where did I say that any other e-tailer doesn't stock XFX?

Where did I say that XFX weren't popular?

All I said is that their aftersales and support is abysmal, and it is. You would have to be blind if you can't see it, but just because you happen to own an XFX card you feel a need to defend them.

I also never said there was anything wrong with their cards, I am glad you're happy with yours and that you haven't had to deal with their crappy support team, but it doesn't mean their aftersales and support aren't crap.

I defended their aftersales support as well because I never HAD any problem with it.

Surely if I have received the same treatment from XFX like you, I wouldn't be so stupid to buy XFX cards now would I?

They did have the resistor issue - but then a few companies had it.

They replaced nice and quickly for the unlucky few
