*** Xperia Z2 Official Thread ***

Strange thing today when walking to work. Had music on and runkeeper. I couldn't get the screen to come on, pressing power button did nothing. Music was still playing however... I had to hold down the power and volume to shut it off..

Any ideas?

I think that's just technology. Nothing is 100% reliable. Every phone I've had does something odd once in a while.

The wifi on mine wouldn't turn on yesterday, required a restart. Would just be stuck on 'turning wifi on', then fail. Maybe I touched/closed something beforehand related to the wifi. I don't know, I am an Android newbie :p.

Have you got quick boot selected under developer options?. Enabling this rendered wifi unable to switch on plus throws you back onto the previous screen when trying to power off.

A bug I hope they fix.

Been using mine a couple of days now. So far very impressed, especially over my SGS2. I found the battery life never ending, and its super quick!

The only complaint I do have is that the charging port is behind a flap, I can imagine over the course of 2 years that this will likely wear the flap out and lose its "waterproof-ness", so looks like i'll be set to get the magnetic charging docks.

Anyone who ordered from Amazon, they look to be delivering their vouchers on Tuesday.

I don't even know where the developer options are :p. So probably not!

Mines been dispatched so should be here tomorrow. Not a great leap from my z1 but still looking forward to it coming

I've had mine 5 days now, I absolutely love it, there is a slight gap at the bottom left as previously stated, but I never even noticed it until some one else said about it on this thread.

The screen is very bright and excellent quality, it is strange though, my screen looks off when looking at it through my Oakley sunglasses, that has never happened before with any of my phones. It's not a concern though.

My only slight concern is the battery life, it seems to last much less than my Z did. I'm getting roughly 6 hours of game time before it needs charged.

The stereo speakers on the phone are a big step up from the Z and the call quality is perfect, it used to be quite bad for crackling on my Z.

The free speaker is unreal, I had planned on selling it before it arrived, but now I'm definitely keeping it.
It's really, really loud and great quality, it way exceeded my expectations.
I took it to a family party today and every one was really impressed and they all wanted to buy it off me.
I'd love to take it on holiday but the weight of it would mean I'd have to leave all my clothes at home, it really is a beast! Haha

So, does anyone know how to move movies (More specifically, movies bought from the Play store)/games from internal storage to an SD card? I'm running out of space yet I have like 58GB left on my SD card but the option to move content from my phone to the SD card is grayed out.

Can you access the files via File Commander (pre installed)?

That seems to be able to move files from the phone to the SD Card.

I don't think 16gb is enough in this day and age as built in storage. I am going to make sure my next phone has at least 32gb built in + a micro sd card.

I don't know why phone makers insist on keeping it at 16gb even for flagships. Ridiculous.

So it's payday. I need to decide on which screen cover to get.. I fought with the included one and binned it. My assumption is a glass one is better under the finger and much easier to apply?

Any suggestions as to which? I've read on XDA of some people getting glass protectors which don't actually fit..

Cheers!

Well after playing with that phone throughout the day in pretty impressed. The screen.although not as bright as the z1 is much better to look at does look great while watching a movie. I've not had any issue. With the digitizer being seen indoors or out. All in all pretty happy so far. I've not experienced any issues some users reported such as gaps at the top or anything like that.

Got my tv from the pre-order on voda, it's not bad at all, made last month and is their latest 32" model. Supports miracast no problem but there's a delay between audio and picture, anyone else have this? Tried multiple phones (nexus4/5, S3/4/5, Z2) and same issue all over :(

I see it on mine if I angle it dramatically in direct sunlight. Under normal use I don't see it.

I had 1% battery today and it lasted 45 minutes with stamina mode and listening to music. May have lasted longer but I plugged it in when I arrived at university.

The same thing has happened to me a few times. Wifi wouldn't turn on. Had to turn airplane mode on and off in order to get it to work.

Found this over at Xda

Where to find the batch number ?
" Look at the SD Card Slot you will find a little black tab much like the sim card tray so pull it out with a pair of tweezers or if you have long nails make use of it and you will find out the information you would find usually behind a battery cover and such, the IMEI number, other serial numbers and of course, the manufacturing date."

14w15 : slight gap at the top right ( less than a mm ) , Camera lens off centered , dead pixel
14w16 : Dead pixel ( 1 - 2 ) , Battery over heat , Camera lens off centered ( up in left position ) , A gap on the top right and on back on the top left just above the camera lens ,
14w17 : Overheat from using 4k video recording , 1mm gap on the top and bottom right corners and around 2mm gap on the bottom left corner. , flash is so far off centred that the complete top left corner ,
14w18 : A gap in the bottom left of the phone ( can easily fit a piece of paper or a pin in the gap). Also have the off center camera ,gets warm even when just using Chrome. , dust under screen / camera lens ,
14w19 : the camera is slightly off center ( doesnt affect the image quality ) , tiny gap at bottom left.

My phone is 14w19. The camera is certainly off-centre. I never noticed until this. Gap doesn't look as bad in the pics. It's not a big deal I think.
