Xpert Eleven - Online Football Management Game

I completely forgot about XE for the last season until about 2 or 3 games to go. So finishing 3rd from bottom is justified really :o

Considering I finished 3rd last time out.

I'm still interested in doing this though, Metatarsal United is the team :)

12 players with a visible increase, one of which was a 2 bar improvement. Still not got a fantastic squad but I've leapt up the 'strongest team' page and there's plenty of years left in my players yet.

Definitely need some friendlies though before the new season.

i have been royally shafted on skill increases. loads of my players had at least 15 av form (and sometimes as much as 17/18) and there was only like 5 visibles in the whole team (or which the ones with 17/18 didnt increase). well annoyed

I see a lot of your players are 30+ which will have something to do with it, getting skill increases on old players is a lot harder than with youngsters.

Right, I am in the league now. How do I play, beginners tips? I am sure it is like most other football managing games but any useful hints for a first timer would be much appreciated!

1. Home advantage makes a big difference.

2. Keep your players form as high as possible, and make sure they all have 100% match experience at the end of the season. This will mean the best skill increases possible.

3. Buy into young players or take accept them from the youth team when they get offered to you.

4. Scout out your opponent before the next game, pay to view their previous games tactics reports and set your tactics based on that. Or look at more than one of their previous games as they might have different tactics away from home.

5. Spending money on training is probably worth more than spending it in the transfer market

6. Read the rules on the website as it will tell you lots more :)

Read the rules. All of them. There is so much information in there, reading the main forum on the site helps too. Main advice I can give is to forget that it's a football game. It's a game of chance and probability, learn and understand the game mechanics and you'll be able to work out how to best maximise your chances of winning.

You need to be a VIP member, costs about 8 Euro's for 3 months I think.

I thought it was just on your main page? On mine it has how 'hot' the team is, manager skill, team strength and then form - I'm not a VIP member either.
Or is there something different?

Hot is just form I think, Team strength is average skill throughout the team, not sure what manager skill is based on.

All that the VIP enables is for you to easily compare your ratings and other stats with other teams.
