I wouldn't chance it, the seller can quite easily vanish from ebay. If it becomes more trouble than it's worth for him with customer returns I really wouldn't put it past him to quit while he's ahead.

That could be said for ANYONE on eBay, loads of people have bought these monitors and had no problem with them. The whole reason why there cheap is because there defected and if you buy one not realising this then more fool you.

I don't think i've heard of a single horror story from anyone who has had to contact the sellers of this or any of the variant models after purchase.

Yeah it could be said for anyone, but if you were to go with a known/half decent branded model you'd at least have the option to get in touch with the manufacturer if/when needed. Each to their own.. but to me it seems a bit daft to take the risk.

Apart from Moogley's in this thread you mean who had his for a whole week?

They aren't 'defective' they are simply not A+ panels in the grading process. And there have been one or two horror stories in this forum with blood being spilled in an attempt to fix it :) but those problems were sorted out by the seller.

New DVI cable arrived, and no more flicker problems :)

Seeing how many got one that's not a crazy high numbers of malfunctioning monitors to be honest. The next cheapest option is twice the price, so if you buy two the chances that both malfunction are astronomically small.

Maybe not, but how long have these monitors been in discussion for? A few months maybe max? Could go either way, who knows only time will tell. Fingers crossed everyone here will get a good one.

Hmm my screen has started to flicker slightly every now and again. I get a quick line across the screen and a flicker. It could be my 7970 and the drivers as I have had issues since changing to the 12.4 drivers. Really hope it's not the screen dying after a week as one of my old screens did something similar and then just died...

Edit - Problem solved, It seems to be the new 12.4 drivers from AMD a clean up and re-load to 12.3 and all is fine...

Kiss of death after me saying no flicker problems but mine is now doing the same thing where a very quick flicker line appears right across the centre of the screen every now and then. I too just updated drivers to 12.4. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :)

I don't get that flicker on my other monitor...

Isn't that what moogleys did just before i died? is yours also a PC Bank

I was on about the sellers being decent to deal with, not the monitors being reliable. I'd expect a good bunch of these will likely die in the first year or so there cheap for a reason!

Although some offer Pixel checks to ensure you do not get dodgy pixels. The PCBank usually offers this on everything, but sellers offer it for a fee for others.

In other news, mine seems to be in Kazakhstan. On the tracking it keeps repeating 'In transit though'. For example:

I keep getting excited there was an update but it just keeps repeating itself instead.

Yours seems to have taken a different route to mine nico as mine went to Paris:confused:

Think he's still waiting for a reply from the seller. Loads of people have bought them on OCN and not had any issues at all. And apart from Moogleys the only other issues people have had is damage during delivery from what I can tell, and because of that it does look like most of the sellers have beefed up the protective packaging.
