Sound good. Did yours get delivered just in its original box? And can you tell me what the declared value of your monitor was on the dhl sticker?

don't mind paying the duty, but green sum said he did what I asked but he didn't, which is probably why I got stung duty. Since declared the monitor $190.

Going to try and set it up tonight once the kids are asleep. To see how good this screen is.

Arrived :) no dead pixels, stand it actually pretty good!! there does seem to be a bit of dust stuck under the glass screen, right smack bang in the middle. Its tiny if it bothers me i will try and remove it. Couldn't test full res cos work pc is bad. Very happy though :)

Having a look on green sums store there are so many versions there. What are the ones people are most going for or is the one to have?

From what i understand the panels are all the same, you just need to look at the designs and see which brand you like. Each brand then has a few different models which you need to look into and see which suits you the best and then check the price. Don;t forget to factor in the import duty incase you get stung. Also send messages to the seller if you have questions about shipping, the model etc they always reply.

Hope that makes sense. It was a minefield at first but but in the end i just went for the cheapest whcih i saw and it was advertised as pixel perfect. Pixel perfect from what i remember just means no bright pixels and allows for dead black pixels.

hey p2user, just got back and got to have a proper look at this monitor. Man so happy, its fricking huge and the res is just insane. Makes my current viewsonic look dull! I haven't been stung for any duty yet, and it read $190 on the label.

such an absolute deal, so glad I popped in on this thread!

I've taken a chance by ordering from the cloth guy and ordered a Crossover 2720MDP Gold with the height adjustable pivot stand and multi inputs. I could have saved a few quid if I ordered the Catleap version from the green guy but I preferred the looks of the crossover, I just hope it arrives in one piece.

Post you impressions when you get it please. I'm VERY interested in getting the Crossover (since it's pretty damn cheap once you consider currency conversion from dollars to pounds). Although I was going to order it from 'accessorieswhole'

On sunday I decided to take the stand and silver arch off my Catleap as it was too high for me (i sit quite low). I then did a bit of woodwork and attached the piece of wood to a stand from a DGM 24" monitor, drilled some holes in the wood for 75mm vesa mount holes and attached to monitor using 4mm screws just long enough to hold the monitor to the stand (don't use screws too long as you can see in the vesa mounting holes that their is not much space behind). It is now the perfect height as the center of the screen is in line with my eyes so I no longer have to tilt my head back to see the top of the screen. This is just temporary until I get a proper stand like the allcam MMS01

Looks rubbish at the back but you cant see it unless you poke your head round there

Comfy

It is more stable now than it was on it's original stand and has just enough room to get my finger underneath the on/off button

Hi guys! Just got a question as I should be getting my monitor soon. Do you think my old GTX 285 will be able to drive this monitor till I get new card? My GTX 285 has two DVI-I ports so I hope it shoud be no problem? What do you think? Cheers,

If anyone is interested in the CrossOver (more expensive, but a metal chassis, imo, worth it), there's a seller on eBay who is doing a pixel perfect version that uses A+ panels and specifically mentions zero stuck pixels as well. For about £300.

May just pick one up. (or two) :)

You weren't kidding when you said you sat looooow!
Office chair as supplied by The Winchester Club?
Comfiest looking setup I've ever seen.

It is extremely comfy. I got a piece of chipboard from an old cabinet and cut it to size to put across the arms of the chesterfield chair. I then covered it in a large boogie bug mouse matt. It is perfect for the keyboard and mouse with my elbows rested on the arms of the chair. I can sit with my feet on the floor or legs out straight on the footrest or put my feet on the front edge of the footrest so my knees are bent and rest against the inside of the arms of the chair. It is perfect for gaming/watching films and tv probably not perfect for working/typing a lot.

I love it.

No need for the link but could you tell me name of the seller please

Accessorieswhole. Heard very good things about her.

By the way, there's been reports of the CrossOver having a blue tint on factory calibration. If getting it, I seriously recommend re calibrating it.

The Shimian is better in the initial colour accuracy department.

Cheers for that mate, will have a look :)

Just remember, unless you go for the version with more inputs and built in scalar (also more expensive, about £400 for pixel perfect ones) then you'll have to calibrate through software - no OSD. Not a big bother though, who really uses the OSD that much?

Also, they do accept 720p, so consoles should work. (If you want to try). Just remember there's no scalar unless you go more expensive, which adds a frame of input lag as well.
