hey p2user, just got back and got to have a proper look at this monitor. Man so happy, its fricking huge and the res is just insane. Makes my current viewsonic look dull! I haven't been stung for any duty yet, and it read $190 on the label.

such an absolute deal, so glad I popped in on this thread!

Just been able to set it up, been hetic this long weekend and yet i wanted it asap :D

Haven't done much tests but can't see any dead pixels and it's bloody bright. I like high screen res and this is much better than the Dell 23" TN panel i had which did over 1080p but everything looks a decent size on 27" and the colours look great. Haven't had a chance to calibrate it with my Huey as i've had to rebuild my PC and then i can try out lightroom. Also its so bright had to lower the brightness a lot.

I don't think the stand is as bad a people says, it does the job and as long as you click it correctly then the tilt works great without the monitor topping over.

Surprised the <> are used for volume control and the speakers are not that bad just for sound and music in the background.

Like you say, so glad i brought one and the price is good even though i got stung with customs :D

Also I don't need to upgrade my gfx card as it works great on both of the dual dvi ports and i can see the bios screen without a problem.

Bloody DHL!!!! I think they have decided to delivery my monitor as my tracking is showing,

Scheduled for delivery as agreed BIRMINGHAM - UK 11:45

I've told them that i'll be picking it up.

£24.95 isn't bad for duty.

I paid £24 customs with DHL aswell, had to pay on collection. Those thinking they didn't get a charge may get it later in the post. Tbh though £24 for customs isn't bad at all. My screen is awesome, still can't believe how cheap it was, such high quality screen..

On sunday I decided to take the stand and silver arch off my Catleap as it was too high for me (i sit quite low). I then did a bit of woodwork and attached the piece of wood to a stand from a DGM 24" monitor, drilled some holes in the wood for 75mm vesa mount holes and attached to monitor using 4mm screws just long enough to hold the monitor to the stand (don't use screws too long as you can see in the vesa mounting holes that their is not much space behind). It is now the perfect height as the center of the screen is in line with my eyes so I no longer have to tilt my head back to see the top of the screen. This is just temporary until I get a proper stand like the allcam MMS01

It is more stable now than it was on it's original stand and has just enough room to get my finger underneath the on/off button

i notice it says about problems with p67 chipset , ive got a h61 mobo. any compatibility issues with that does anybody know?

really liking the idea of a 27" 120hz ips monitor and can't wait for the new stock as was going to buy either a dell or a samsung 120hz monitor but these seem to good to pass up :)

Theres some 2b models on ebay from one seller, £350 ish though, 14 of them

£350? ouch i may have set my expectations too high as thought these could be had for about 100quid less than that with customs fees etc .

i seem some for sale for £201 last night, im guessing they are 60hz only?

yes few months ago 2b were available, they had to have some extra 2b gubbins made, as such they request a premium price.

I have given up on the 24" DGM's Colin, I found I only really used one monitor so i just disconnected your old monitor (put my old base to good use though ;)). As soon as i buy a proper stand I will put that DGM back together and give it to my brother.

That looks like the comfiest set up ever! I might just invest in one of those chairs :)

Are the arms not a bit high up?

Not for me, they are the perfect height. If you find the arms too high you could just put some extra spongy stuff under the leather seat to make it higher.

My PC is in the living room as my girlfriend says she would never see me if it was in the spare bedroom :D. This means that having a proper comfy chair in the corner of the living room means i can just turn it round and it becomes part of the furniture when we have guests. If you have a normal swivel desk seat then its does not really fit in with a living room as it just looks like an office chair that no one want to sit on.

Another important decision on using the chesterfield chair is that i used to have a bad back because i used to have an office chair which i used to sit in the same position all night. With the chesterfield i can move and have 3 different positions. The chesterfields, when new, are really REALLY uncomfortable as they are very hard. The one i have is over twenty years old and the leather is really soft and this makes all the difference. I have seen them on auction sites for between £25-£75 which is an absolute bargain as they will last for many years.

Your lucky my wifebot could have chopped my nads off for connecting the Xbox to the new plasma, as for having your own space they always invade.

I really didn't pay much attention lol, was it 100 or 120 they OC'd to?
got a 2B here and not even looked at Ocing it as Im happy with it as is.

Is there a large differnce between standard and overclocked ?
I notice no ghosting or in mage/input lag in the games I play.

Don't bother then.

If 60hz does fine for you, don't bother trying to push it harder. I don't see the point either, imo.

DW if your happy the way it is I would not bother pushing the board but you could try a bit to see if you notice any notable difference to make it worth while doing. Mine has been in Heathrow since this morning looks like I won't see it untill Monday.
