Nothing stopped you before.. :p

*well...until the men with the big white denim jacket with those nice shiny buckles at the back turned up...*

Although, thinking about it - Desmo's arse would be better at the ground rumbling effects of the Vulcan.

Lol!

Looks like the date for the Falklands flypast is 17th June 2007 - unless anyone can find otherwise? I've already put it in my diary - nothing will keep me away :D

Awesome news!!!

I will never forget feeling the ground shake and the deafening roar of the Vulcan as it turned its engines to the crowd and gave it full power in a steep climb at Halton Air show about 18 years ago :)

Can't wait to see her fly again.

Great news. I was going to make a small donation myself, I wish I had half a mil to go to other worthy projects.

They can rustle up hundreds of thousands of pounds for lesbian arts groups or african poetry seminars but there is never any money to save a piece of British heritage like this and one that defended this country with valour and diligence. The Ruskies were scared stiff of the Vulcan you know. :)

I saw her at Fairford quite a few years ago as well. I remember the pilot turning her belly to the crowd on a fly past and opening the bomb bay doors for us all to see where the nukes were kept. The noise and the power of the aircraft is simply stunning. :)

Halton air show, Halton, Runcorn, Cheshire?

If so then I did not know that Halton hosted an airshow and that's from someone that lives near there :o

Great news :D. I saw one do a highspeed taxi run when I was younger and the noise was awesome then, I can't even begin to imagine what one firewalled for takeoff will sound like :D.

Probably RAF Halton, near Aylesbury in Bucks.

Yep Mark66 was talking about Halton just down the road from him in Aylesbury and about 20 mins from my place.
Used to go every year.

Very unoriginal I know but
