Yet Another TJ07: Performance Passive

Looking good.

You do need to pop on MSN at some point though, if you can spare the time away from Ulduar! :p
My temporary setup has lasted slightly longer than I had been expecting, I'll be back on MSN once this one is finished.
Looking good :)
Did you start the board with no cooling on the cpu, or was the block just installed and no cpu :p
Started it up with no cooling.

Started it up with no cooling.

which would be fine

Jokester - its good to see you got one of the older UD5 boards [one with the orange pcie slot at the bottom]

the newer ones [with the blue slot] that i have had recently at work havent clocked so well

That's good to know, didn't realise that there were any changes to these boards!

Wow cracking project, looks awsome.

Good info rjkoneill I to didn't realise there were any changes with these boards! I to have the ud5 with the orange slot :)

the newest batch we have in at ocuk has blue slots all over it

i think they probably just clock differently to how i am used to, they have the same revision number so there are no new features [to my knowledge]

Looking good so far, always intresting to see how passive builds go. Only ever seen that build on MDPC using those rads before, that looks great so hopefully your build will be equally impressive :)

Good luck

Bit more done today:-

I've drilled out all the rivets on the backplate to remove it so I can replace it with a solid one:-

looks good, i dont like the massive hole in the tj07 mobo tray now, put it behind the cpu for swapping coolers, but surely it doesnt need to be that long

looks good what you have done there jokester

i thought about getting a solid backplate but ended up deciding against it

I think the hole is designed for dual cpu boards in mind. It's a shame they don't have a hole at the bottom into the PSU section as it would be handy for the power cables being tucked behind the tray as well.

Going to have 2 speed controlled fans plus SSDs.

I'm not to keen on it, because of its shape you need to use additional spacers to lift it off the back of the board

Got a bit more done today, decided on two pumps, one for the CPU, one for everything else. From the res, it goes to pump 1 and on to the CPU and back to the res via a common line. For pump 2 it goes to the GPU, the power regs, the chipset and then out the back to the radiators (each side in parallel) before returning to the common line.

looking very nice and im interested in how well those side mounted radiator grills perform, keep up the good work and keep the pictures rolling :D
