Your current Fish tank Setups!

Ah you've got me looking at other tanks now and now the Red Sea Max range are looking more and more appealing, damn you Psypher! I'm not in a rush to buy as i'm wait to get my student o/d down (easier said than done while still at uni) then get my next loan installment at the end of april so I can have plenty of money to do everything right.

Have a look Red Sea Max 130D

stay on the lookout for a second hand one. I got mine for less than half price of new.
I know what you mean though, im in my third year and feeling it ;)

red sea are like, the rolls royce!

I have just bought a double lamp started so I can add another 2 tubes to my light setup and thus double the wattage to 2 wpg. I really hope this boosts my chances of successfully growing plants.

I finished my tank blackout yesterday. So got some pics :D

Heres a shot of my crab Boris in his own little tank. He was in my 55 gallon with 2 others. On of which I found dead on the floor of my room at the back of my AV unit 6 months after I bought it :\. The other just disappeared cant find it anywhere and Boris started eating my fish so I caught him and put him in my spare tank.

best advice: join a forum, (im on thesaltybox, but theres loads).

you wont get far with just live rock tbh. I have just live rock atm and its, awfully boring :P Gonna get my critters soon (and a cleaner shrimp), then monitor and add in 2 clown fish later :)

Hi guys

some lovely looking tanks here, rather than make new thread though i should just ask here.

Our fish tank cracked recently (fresh water fish ~130L) and we don't really want to repair it as its time for a upgrade(had it about 20 years i think)

unfortunately most of the fish died and have finally decided to get some marine fishes with coral and so on.

Unfortunately i know very little about fish(its my fathers hobby) and have said i will help him set up a marine tank. The fish tank i have chosen for himis juwel trigon 190 and was wondering if this is a good tank and more importantly where to buy from? Have seen several places on google but can i trust these dealers?

Also is there any good places to buy fish, live rock and coral from on the internet or any shops that i could visit in London?

All my local pet shops don't have much fish unfortunately, was really looking for more specialised dealers, any help would be appreciated.

thanks

http://www.discountfish.co.uk/. We have used them twice very good imo although their prices have gone up a little since I last used them.

Edit. Just looked on that site at their new stock and they have a black tip shark for sale a bargain at £599. Just reading up on them on google they look stunning although they do grow up to 6 ft !!!!!

If I ever won the euro millions Im gonna get me one of those babys :)

Ive just got rid of a load in my 64l tank. I pulled out all the plants and scrubbed down all the glass. I then used my net to scoop up all my sand and sived out all the crap out of it.
There were about 100 dead snails and loads of live ones which I threw in the bin.

If you haven't got sand then try an assassin snail or 2 (takes a couple of weeks for them to eat the pests)
Or try a piece of lettuce anchored to the bottom of the tank. Do this over night and when you wake up in the morning the lettuce should hopefully be covered in the little buggers which you can take out and throw in the bin
