Your driving...

i drive too fast, but not dangerously, just when i know the road, its safe and the weathers ok. Never speed on unknown roads. My average cruising speed is 60-80. Wouldnt say it needs improvement as im always very aware when im driving.

My main problem is cornering. As silly as it sounds :D

I had a white Corrado and coming home from work one morning i was going round a corner and had to swerve, lost the back end and took out a sign post. Its kind of messed me up, i find that at night driving round bendy roads doesnt bother me but in the daylight im always slightly on edge.

However, the rado being 'one of the best handling coupes for its time' always felt jittery. I was once going to work and eased off the accelerator ever so slightly and the back end started to go, accelerated and brought it back in.

The new rado ive got did the same thing recently. im not sure if its the cars or whether my cornering skills stinks. I find the 1.6 mk4 golf takes one local bendy bypass at 80mph, however, the rado feels like its about to pop the rear out at just 70mph.

Think im going to find a local track, take one of the rados and just drive it and drive it until i know exactly how it handles.

Look under the steering cowl and you'll find a lever. Pull that and adjust the steering wheel down onto your knees. :D
I wish!

It pulls forward or pushes backwards, anything up and downy needs a hammer :D

I need to stop moaning about other drivers, its not partically road rage as I dont do anything or get myself worked up but I moan constantly about others bad driving. Perhaps I should just shut up and worry about what im doing lol.

You do that while on normal roads?

Lots of people do, doesn't mean they're tanking it everywhere.

I can't in the Beemer - pedals are just wrong.

Reverse parking.

I have a car park in work so I just pull in no probs, and when I come home theres so much space on my street I just pulled over beside my house so I generally don't get much experience of needing to reverse into a small space.

But then if I go up town, I struggle :/

Other than that I think I'm ok! 5 years driving, no accidents (yet). I think I'm pretty patient and courteous, unless someone is being show-off-stupid.

Got to say parking too. I can parallel and reverse park fine, its just going forwards into a space I sometimes mess up. No idea how since its probably the easiest of the lot but hey.

In a more "non road" way prob get a bit more used to having an LSD, my brain hasn't quite realised how fast I can corner yet.

Having ridden a bike for the last 4 years and now back in a car I find I NEVER use my mirrors. I have turned into the driver I learned to hate.

Although I'm not like that in my old vehicles, interesting how a modern car does that to you. Enlightening in fact.

Reversing and occasionally gear changes as i jump off the clutch too quick jerking the car. Im fine ith parallel parking, but reversing into a bay I usually get in then have to move the car over a bit to get central.

Mirrors, Ive started using them more than i did when i forst got my car, but still nto as much as i should really. Always use them before moving lanes etc, but rarely before braking.

I don't really know what I need to do to improve.... honestly have me stumped.

I'm a patient enough person (unless really ****** off), I tend to stick to speed limits till I hit 60/70 zones. I don't drive like a loon, I signal, parking is good.......

I guess space awareness I could improve on.

I dont have any problems driving smoothly and I dont do it.

I can drive smoothly with out it too but once you can do it right it just feels so nice and right and engine braking is so much easyer on the clutch :D
