ATI 9700 Pro
ATI 9800 XT
ATI X800 XT PE
ATI 1950 XT
Nvidia 7800 GTX
Nvidia 7900 GT

Nvidia 8800GT
Nvidia 8800 GTS (512mb & 640mb)
Nvidia 8800 GTX

Nvidia GTX 260

3DFX Voodoo 1 4mb (Orchid Righteous) *We owe you a debt of gratitude*
S3 Virge Trio *Partner for above - was already in PC*
3DFX Voodoo 2 12mb (STB Blackmagic)
Matrox Millenium II *Partner for Voodoo 2 - had amazing colour copared to the S3*
Voodoo 3 3000 AGP *Good performance but stale features*
Voodoo 5 5500 AGP *Bad decision*
GeForce 3 (ELSA Gladiac) *Replaced Voodoo 5 after 4 months*
GeForce 4 Ti 4600 (Leadtek)
GeForce 5900 Ultra *Vast improvement over the 5800 but could have been better*
GeForce 6800 GTX *Whoosh!*
GeForce 7800 GTX (2x Gigabyte SLi) *Ridiculous amount of money - Whoosh x 2!*
GeForce 7950GX2 (Gainward) *Bought out of desperation when Core 2 Duo CPU's came out and the only SLi board available refused to work*
GeForce 8800 GTX (BFG) *Recently died but probably the best card I've ever owned - currently using the 7950GX2*
Radeon 4870 (Sapphire) *Ordered to replace my defunct 8800 GTX...can't wait*

hahahaha great thread....anyway, can't remember them all, but...
ATI Mach64
ATI Mach64+ (did this really exist, I reckon marketing magic...)
ATI Rage
Voodoo2 addon with above
2 x Voodoo 2's with above and the cable and Quake rocked!
Riva TNT
ATI Rage Pro (then got a 4meg upgrade)
Voodoo 3500TV, with huge dongle, and drivers changed every day or so
GeForce 4200Ti
Radeon 9500 Pro (softmodded)
Radeon 9700 Pro
Radeon 9800XT
Radeon X800 Pro
Radeon X1800XT 512 meg (still got in HTPC)
Radeon X1650SE (in server)
Next is a 4850 in HTPC with a better cooler
Also may upgrade X1650SE in server to a 3450 or something...

Voodoo's were the high point for me, with a ISDNlinefor online gaming, followed by the 3500TV and Unreal Tournament. Next big jump was the X1800XT which is still in daily use and has never failed me once. Not adverse to nVidia, but ATI serves my now general use better tan out and out gaming

:)

I agree about the x1800XT! I think that was one of the biggest single leaps in performance I experienced! The image quality was astounding compared to the NV cards!

OF interesting note when I got my first ATi Card....the 9600pro the IQ change was phenomenal then and I remember it being one of the first things I noticed when I got the card installed!

3DFX Voodoo 1
3DFX Voodoo 2
Geforce 2 (can't rememeber which one)
Geforce FX5200
Radeon 9800XT (which is still running my mate's WoW machine)
Radeon X1900XT
Radeon X1950XTX (free upgrade as the X1900XT died and when I took it back to the shop to get it checked out they LOST it :D )

The Voodoo 2 (hah, in my old 333MHz PII) had the fan break after about a week and still ran for about a year and a half perfectly.

Nvidia TNT2 32mb AGP
Nvidia Geforce 4 mx440 64mb AGP
Nvidia FX5700LE 256MB AGP
Geforce 6800 128mb AGP
Geforce 6800GT 256mb AGP (Bought from a friend for £50 a few years ago BARGAIN!!)
Geforce 7600GT 256mb AGP
Geforce 7900GS 256MB PCI-E

Nvidia fanboy maybe? lol

I'm tied to the 7900gs until i upgrade my motherboard as my current board doesn't support the 8800gt and above due to the crappy via chipset :(

most of my cards have just been in there to power the monitor. sitting in a drawer next to me are:
Nvidia Geforce 2 mx400 64mb
something that says ATI rage 128- with the smallest passive cooler ever
something else of nvidia with a bigger passive cooler

and i think i have an old ati9850 in this retro machine just now

Do you have a diamond mine in your back garden or something?

All earlier cards were non-3D, so I haven't included them (also, I can't remember them). You many notice that I am not a high-spec video card enthusiast and I often play games on the low settings.

Riva 128
TNT2 Ultra (A friend recognised this when it was an unboxed, unknown card at a PC fair).
Geforce 2 DDR (Dell OEM from a PC fair which I just reflashed the BIOS to standard)
Geforce Ti4200 (Special Leadtek offer of motherboard and graphics card)
ATI 9850 Pro (Second hand from friend at work)
Geforce 6600 GT (came with the PC a friend gave me)
Looking to probably get a 4850 when I build a new PC soon.

Simply too many to list them all... the most recent ones I can remember starting with the oldest first are:

9500 NP
9700 Pro
9800 Pro
X800 XT
X1900 (sent it straight back due to fan noise and driver probs)
7800GTX
8800GTS
8800GTX
G280

So at the moment all things being equal I tend to buy NVidia and am very happy with them, although they seem to be taking the **** price-wise.
