Your job

follow your dreams, you can reach your goals, i'm living proof
Oh I know, I already make a significant number of technical proposals and make strategy decisions in my current job, I just don't have the sway or salary that goes with it. We have one TA and he's on 80k plus.

I'm just impatient as I know more than him already. I've just had to deliver a project he specced that involved the purchase of a piece of virtualisation software that had only just started Beta for a mission critical CRM app! N-1 is our companies motto as well.

I work in borders in swansea

good points
its fun the other people there are great and as good a job as you could want in retail.
bad points
i dont want a job in retail, low pay, 10p above minimum wage, not what i was hoping for after finishing my degree, but you get from life what you put in, and i have not been putting much in.

i am happy at the moment but its not a perminent thing (famous last words) i am just earning ennough to have fun with my life which is something i have been wanting to do for a long time. will think about growning up one day and getting a real job.

I work for HP who are your employers ?

You lie, I thought all of HP-UK was outsourced to Bangalore :p

I work for a company called Atos Origin. Not sure what the Notts guys use but we do have a lot of HP kit. None of it works particularly well :p

Job? Student, Steward, IT Technician for SHU.

Happy? Yes, definitely, I love the course, stewarding is fun, and being an IT techy is even better than the others put together...

Aims? graduate.

Earning? a lot less than when i was at HP :(

What's your job?

I'm a booking agent for Odeon/UCI cinemas. I sell cinema tickets over the phone, process refunds, answer queries and sometimes deal with complaints or liase with cinemas to resolve them.

Are you happy with your job, is it temporary, what job/career do you aim for?

Temporary. Its part time with overtime.

At the moment they are letting me do some extra work like website testing, input of data into new systems we will be using and working with statistics to produce reports for the managers.

I've applied with the Probation Service as a trainee probation officer so should get an answer from them next month.

I've passed the application form for British Transport Police, and I'm waiting to go and do the national police selection tests.

I feel I need to get some more things on my CV (hence applying for St Johns ambulance), and probably get a second job to earn a bit more.

How much do you earn? (Personal)

Not enough put it that way. Just above minimum wage, but I scrape by.

I must spend half my saturday mornings walking past you without realising :o
I work at the carphone warehouse across the car park there and regularly look in borders either before or after work. :)
You lot caused me chaos getting out of work when Jacqueline Wilson came to sign books the other week :p

whats your job?

i work at a garden centre on sundays, nothing fancy i just help old people lift bags of compost etc :p currently studying for a BTEC in IT though

do you like your job?

yes very much so, much better than working in tescos etc. family run, cash in hand, lots of nice laydeez = win

how much do you earn?

not much at all, £1757 last financial year, but no tax and its just money for me to fritter away no commitments etc :)

Exceptions processing for EDS, processing cheques for RBS and Natwest.

It's alright, no stress, hours suit me.

Technically temporary but it's not really.

I earn hardly **** all but it's enough for the moment.

What's your job?
Distribution of original mobile phone accessories/components
Are you happy with your job, is it temporary, what job/career do you aim for?
Very happy - looking to start up by myself in future. 19 now been doing it since 17 :)
How much do you earn? (Personal)
Nearing 30k, not bad seeing as I live at home and only pay £200 a month rent

Job: Server Support Technician
Am i happy with my job: Yes very much, got great set of staff and can be so laid back most of the time
Earning: 12K

At the moment I'm a PA to a racing drivers mum, but in a few weeks I will start as a junior accountant at a large firm of chartered accountants woo!! I'm studying for accountancy qualifications at the mo, but my new job will pay for them all - at the moment I have to pay for my own qualifications, and its expensive!!!

I like some bits of my current job, its laid back and the people I work with are fun. But there are some bits I hate, like booking flights and hotels UGH! And the fact that my Manager is sometimes a complete cow :(

Hopefully I will like my new job :D

Barrister. I don’t practice at the independent bar anymore although I do remain as a door tenant so I can still play now and then. Mostly spend my time as a consultant negotiating high value IT outsourcing contracts, advising on procurement strategy and helping align business objectives and plans with IT outsourcing whilst containing risk (on both supplier and customer sides).

Very happy with what I do although I do have to travel sometimes depending on the deal and no matter how comfortable the surroundings I would still rather be home with wife and kids.

Next steps would be blue chip main board or CEO / COO role of some sort although now I have children I am not sure if I really care for the hassle or stress so I may consider a change of career in the next few years or buying a small business.

I earn far too much but rarely struggle to find things to spend on. It seems that for every object you own there is always a more expensive version to upgrade to.

paintshop preper (basically cleaning the outsdie and sealing up joints on big steel containers)

monkey job but they pay me well so i dont mind, and its easy going

Tesco slave reporting for duty. Starting wage of £4.52. 4 pay rises. One when you're 17, one when you're 18, one after 6 months and one after a year plus a 10% discount card. Currently on £5.04.

I currently work weekends as i have 6th form. 7am until 4pm on saturdays and 8am - 1pm on sundays (Time and a half). Entitled to 1.5 hours break on saturdays and 15mins on sundays so not too bad.

Do i enjoy it? Has it's ups and downs but generally good people around me to work with of all different age groups. I work in the Dairy section with all the ready meals, yoghurts, cheeses, fresh meat, milk etc. Just a shelf stacker, currently.

Job: Contract Business Analyst
Am I happy: Yes. I have a low boredom threshold, so six month here, six months there suites me. I'm also constantly learning as I take new contracts.
Aim: Currently to gain experience and then, in a couple of years, join some friends in our own consultancy company.
Salary: Six figures.

Mobile Developer (read as "I make stuff for mobile phones and use tomcat)
