o_O IX is widely known to be the shortest PS1 FF by far. There's even a reward for getting to the last dungeon of the game before 12 hours (Steiner's best sword).

Tough question really not sure. There's a load of games that make my shortlist, can't really pick a favourite

I'll have to go with the console category since this is the console forum. In that case I would say I dedicated more time to Legend of Zelda (Nintento NES) (1986) than anything else.
PC: Unreal Tournament GOTY (to the point where I actually went to Ohio for a LAN tournament!)

It is a tough question so I'll just fall back on the most prolonged fun and play I've ever had out of any game: Left 4 Dead 1

Geoff Crammonds Microprose Grand Prix on the Atari ST.
Back when games came in big glorious boxes with an instruction manual to be proud of, at the height of my obsession with Formula 1 came a game that put me in the driving seat of a formula 1 car with groundbreaking 3D graphics and playability. Endless laps around Monaco, Hockenheim and Silverstone perfecting my lap times, AI cars that actually made mistakes and didn't ignore the fact you had the inside line in a corner, Geoff Crammond = genius. Fact.

This was the first game I ever played on the PC. It was also the best game I ever played on the PC because at one point, I was online every night til 6am hammering it out.
I have to mention the Street Fighter series (2/2 Turbo/Alpha 1 2 3/ 3rd strike/ 4), Mario Kart SNES, Metal Gear Solid & Driver PS...
Too difficult to choose one.

I didn't really mean the campaign, most FFs have short campaigns and can be beat in 15 hours or less.
What I meant is, FF IX has a lot of side content, lots of shops, big cities to explore, lots of areas to explore, lots of weapons and materia to level aswel as summons. Lots of character side quests. FF VII has some of this but no way as much as IX.
