Your motoring irritations

Actually I have one absolutely major one.

People who don't indicate left when taking the first turn at a roundabout.

Every time I have to wait because I thought they were going straight on and they end up turning left, words cannot express the rage.

12 points and £1000 fine

headlights that are not properly adjusted, is it me or is this problem like 20 times worse than say 5 years ago.

I always seem to be getting dazzled by the driver's side headlight of oncoming cars at night, it's bloody dangerous!

Why does it matter? You shouldn't assume a left indicator means they are turning left anyway.

Is that a joke?

If you're turning left, indicate left. Why wouldn't you?

It may not guarantee that the person is going to turn left (if they're indicating left and then go straight on, they're even more of a twonk), but it's infinitely more helpful to other drivers than not indicating.

This +1000. I made this mistake once, they didn't turn, went right into my car. Ever since then I've been raped severely for insurance, that mistake cost me dear.

It's just inconsiderate. I always indicate as much as I can to let others know my intentions. Of course it shouldn't be read verbatim but it helps others enormously in their decision making.

OMG YES. People that dont indicate at all on roundabouts make me go mental. It renders roundabouts utterly pointless as they as well be give way junctions if everyone has to stop all the time.

Wow good shout! The amount of times I could have been away at a roundabout but have had to wait 5minutes longer because of this is incredible. Mind, about 1% of road users know how to use a roundabout correctly (based on my experience)

That's fine. My point is that if they are indicating left then you shouldn't assume they are turning left. All a left indicator means is that the left bulb is working.

Therefore it's not helpful. You can tell if the driver is turning left by wheel position and driver positioning if you are in a hurry. I only pull out once they have started the turn.

Well they are wrong for assuming you are turning left.
