Your motoring irritations

Avoid roads in general? lol.

I'm no 'boy racer, In the 3 months ive been driving ive probably broke the limit 3 times by ~10mph max to overtake on national speed limit roads or motorways.. I was doing 65 for about 90 miles untill it happened last night.
My visibility behind the 2 lorries was almost 0 so I had no choice but to overtake them, Or did I? They was doing about 65-70mph for miles side by side.
I appreciate your words though :)
Your options were:

1) Slow down and increase your distance between you and the lorry. Then once the overtake is complete it is your turn (if you couldn't see)

2) Use your windscreen wipers?

3) Not drive on the motorway when it's raining

Nothing when it's foggy.

Funnily enough, they're not called 'a bit drizzly lights' or 'make you look cooler lights' or 'im just confused by this extra switch on the dashboard lights'

Ah right! lol Yeah that's annoying as well.
What else is annoying is on the A1, not being able to select just the rear fog... Its selector is front or front + back...

ninja cyclist rants

I hate this, and I am a cyclist...

I've been out at night, cycling, dressed up like a Christmas tree with lights, reflectors, hi-vis this and that, and gone past cyclists dressed entirely in black with no lights or anything. Invariably they're not wearing a helmet either. One time on an unlit road I only noticed a guy cycling in the other direction because I could hear his pedals turning. He'd be screwed if a car came upon him.

Foglights.
Lack of use of indicators (am I psychic?).
Slow off the lights.
Lack of assertiveness in making decisions.
People using mobile phones.
Throwing rubbish out of the window.
Tailgaters.
People who stay in the middle lane.

Why? If visibility is so impaired that you require the rear one to be on then the fronts should be on too.

Have a read of that, it will all become clear. So many people need to read this but they don't. Mist != fog for example.

Cyclists that advance into the advnaced stop section at lights, sit in the middle of it and refuse to keep right. Those who keep left are all good :)

Those others need to be mown down by machine gun fire.

This was my latest irritation. I was approaching this roundabout in the right hand lane to go straight over. Old man in a feista on the junction to the left pulls out while I am on the roundabout going straight over. Luckily he was turning left onto the same road I was going on, but I had absolutely no idea he was doing this as I couldn't see his indicator.

I had to slam the brakes on thinking I would T bone the side of his car. Then I get along side him to show my frustration to which I receive hand gestures as if I was in the wrong for going straight across...

Why would you want just the rear fog? If it's that bad you need both anyway. my Focus is similar, pull the toggle back one click for just the front and the second click has both on.

Don't you mean left for straight on? Or is it marked otherwise?

Too many to list, but my current two main gripes:

1. Foglights, obviously. How can there be so many people who have no idea they've got their foglights on?
2. People who sit in overtaking lanes when the other lane/lanes are clear. If you're not overtaking anyone, move the **** over and let the traffic past. Just because you're happy pootling along doesn't mean everyone is.
