Your plans for 2010?

I know I'm changing my car next year, I've narrowed it down to either a Fiesta ST or a Gen7 Celica VVTLI.

So far the Celica looks the best bet, I'm in no rush and can afford to be choosy until I find one in the spec and colour that I want :)

For the Anglia I want to hoik the engine out and rebuild it so I can use it as a hack, as originally intended. Other than flatting the paint and returning the 69's to the doors I have no further plans for the car.

When that is running I have a few plans up my sleeve for the hotrod. A few go-faster goodies when I can justify the money, but it could do with a damn good going over, make sure the brakes and everything are up to scratch, could do with a new propshaft, check all the bush ends etc. The brake bleed nipples are all seized so I could do with replacing them but it's one of those jobs I'll need to take the car off the road to do, ideally. Oh, and an alternator conversion once I've put a bonnet on the car.

Should have bought a Punto :p

Hmmm, I think all my troubles are par for the course on a 12 year old car.

My little 'tracker' of work done looks like this:

Cambelt and Tensioner @ 72k
Air Filter and Cabin Filter @ 72k
Oil change with new filter @ 73k
Auxillary Belt @ 75k
New Back Box @ 76k
Oil change with new filter @ 76k
New Spark Plugs @77k
New Rear Shoes and Wheel cylidners @ 78k
New Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter @ 80k
Oil change with new filter @ 80k
Brake Discs & Pads @ 80k
2x CV Gaitors @ 80k
New OSF Caliper @ 80k
Rear Bumper, Spoiler and door mirrors resprayed

Move house, therefore cutting commute from 60 miles per day to around 10.

Then buy petrol guzzler V8 or above car, or some form of twin turbocharged petrol car. Either way greater than 300hp and not FWD.

Still need to do a load of work on the mr2. Mainly removing stuff ready for the next season. I did have plans to do a load these past couple of weeks but that's been scuppered. To do:-

New set of 15's or light 14's.
Remove carpets and sound deadening properly
Buy and fit new ARB front and back (funds permitting)

Once I have done that it's a case of finding what else I can do to it. Main problem is time and money :(

I'm not sure what I will do yet, the 'budget' option is simply to upgrade my XJ8 3.5 to an XJR 4.2 Supercharged, or I might seriously investigate the contemporary American and Aussie muscle cars ...or perhaps something else, not really sure yet, what I do know is, now I've gone V8, I don't want to go back to anything smaller.

I really like the idea of esentially keeping what I have, but making it much more powerful, and getting xenon lights and bluetooth would be nice (I have the older style car phone with the sim card slot) ...thus an XJR ...maybe 2006. I really like so much about the Jag, I feel so at home in it, it's so nice to use day to day that it makes sense to me to keep that part of it and just tweak elsewhere, I would like more power :D

I really want to get around to selling the bmw 330d touring and pick up a s2000 this winter, have it ready for the spring kicking in, but the touring is proving to be fairly handy if a bit dull to drive :(

If I keep the 330Ci I will refurbish the wheels. But I keep wanting something more comfortable. I swear the sports suspension on the E46's is way harder than the equivalent e36 ever was, and I place comfort above any driving feel. I might be getting old fast, but its doing my back in! :p

I am very jelous of Moeks car :( Perfect colour combination.

Thats what I would love next:) I am hoping with the new XJ out next year prices on early X350's will come down even further.

Is it a red automatic by any chance? :D

I truly do not know. The only situation which needs attention is my daily car, currently the S-class. What to replace it with though? There is nothing as good this side of around £30k as that is what a new generation S-Class will cost me.

Big dilemma really. Its old but i cant upgrade it. Buying a newer W220 the same would be a tad pointless given that there is nothing "wrong" with my current one.

Test ride a B-King and buy one if i like it or keep the Tuono and add more go faster bits and wait till the V4 Tuono comes out .

Car wise ..Not sure .. Probably get rid of the cars we have and get a cooper S and a M3 or if things go well a Monaro but shall wait and see.. will probably buy summit in the short term so eithier a 330i or Stilo abrath .

Persil
