Ohh, how disapointing now that we are being serious.

Dear Samantha,

I would just like to appologise for any stress that I caused the oterh night by having the Police wake you at such an early hour, I would like to explain my actions in some way as to hope you'd understand why I did so and I'm not just some over protective nutter.

On Monday, Marie was planning to drive down from Middlesbourough down to my house in London, before we were due to fly off on our Hols on Tuesday morning, a long drive and with the monsoome we are experiencing in the south east during this drought, the conditions were not the best. Around 5pm we spoke on the phone, Marie said that she was only an hour r so from my home so I was expecting her around six.

Six came and went, I tried calling, but no answer, seven, eight and nine all passed and I still hadn't recieved any word from Marie and I was starting to get worried. By midnight I was quiet concerned as an hour drive had now turned into 6 hours without any contact. Understanding the weatehr conditions on the Motorway I was starting to Imagine the worst. By 3 am I was almost out of my mind, I tried calling all the people and places that I thought Marie might have been, or might have contacted but I could not find any information, fearing the worst, I contacted the hospitals and police so see if their had been any accidents.

As the Police were also concerned by this chain of events, they wanted to contact you incase you had heard anythingfrom Marie, when I said that I dodn't have any contact details apart fom youraddress they said they will send a car round to check. I didn't do any of these actions to cause panic, they were all motivated by a genuine concern for Maries safety.

I hope you understand my actions and that you thought I acted only in a proper concerned manner.

Much better letter, a few spelling and grammar mistakes but I'd definitely go with that one instead :)
 
Look, wheres the boobs. I want boobs, not much, just a taste, surely you can sort us out with some taste?.

And the letter is ok dude, but again i think you need to add a little bit about the holiday and the flight. This way if she hasnt told the mother it kicks off at her end, and you're a little more likely to get a reply (of course add your telephone number also!).

EDIT: Daveys letter fits the bill nicely.

nothing a quick spellcheck can't fix
also random Capitalisation of Words in the middle of a sentance = not good.

Now come on, this is a mother you are addressing. Less of the "6ish" and vaugeness of "sending the police around at that time", these little touches make a letter much more coherant:-

Dear Mrs xxxxx (unless you know her mum well enough to call her samantha),

I am writing this letter to you to apologise for contacting the police on (date), and their subsequent arrival at your home. I would also like to explain my actions. Marie was due to arrive at my home, ready for our planned holiday, the evening before. She contacted me at 5 o'clock to inform me that she would be there within the hour. Following this, I had no contact from her and could not raise her on her mobile phone; it consistantly went straight to answerphone.

Needless to say by midnight I was extremely concerned as to her whereabouts given the poor driving conditions. Worried that she may have had an accident or something and not haivng any other contact details, I decided to call the police. I hope you can understand and would have done the same in my situation; I just wanted to see she was all right. It was obviously at this point that the police turned up at your house to check there. Unfortunatly, it must have been only after this that her phone seemed to work again, as she left me a message over the internet saying my actions had upset you.

I am sorry to say that she still has not arrived here nor has she told me where she was, or a reason for not arriving. (dont ask if her mum knows)

No need to mention you are or were her boyfriend as its an "appology" letter, and ergo not a requirement to let her know your relationship position. If she knows Maria has a boyfriend, she will know its you.
