you can make a syrup sponge in 5mins. Not done one for years but I think its 100g marge, ~175g self raising flour, 100g sugar and 2 eggs, mix it all up, put 3-4tbps in bottom of a pyrex dish add the cake mix and put it in the microwave for ~3mins on full.
Get some instead custard and you have a quick and easy okish desert.

After making several of these i think i've got something that works well for me... at least, the last one i made was far nicer than the first one

I think I used too much flower however it's not too noticeable
How can I stop ending up with little balls of unmixed flour? I mixed as best I could however apparently I was neither vigorous or violent enough.
