Except there isnt on all devices, IOS and Smart TVs namely. This is around 99% of our YouTube consumption. Also add in YouTube/Google music which eliminates any need for Spotify or similar for in car music, and it is amazing value if signed up for via India.Exactly, why are people paying when there is a legal way to block ads for free.
Generally ads don’t bother me and no way am I paying to get premium. Most of the channels I watch have the skip after 5 secs and the occasional full 30 sec add which is fine for me.
I also haven't tried this myself, but I've heard that if you sign-up to Youtube Premium from another country, such as India, the price is much lower. There are ways to block ads at router level. I've not done it myself. But I can see why people would.
If Youtube wasn't so greedy charging £11.99 per month I'm sure they could get a lot more subscribers.
haha indeed, this thread will go round and round foreverI also haven't tried this myself, but I've heard that if you sign-up to Youtube Premium from another country, such as India, the price is much lower.

I thought Pi Hole no longer blocked all Youtube adverts? At least that's what I heard after, IIRC, they changed the filter lists. You can also use a raspberry pi (pi-hole) to filter out ads after the router.
Pi hole doesn’t do a great job of blocking YouTube ads
Agreed just pay the £1.50 for a family pass for the month and move on. Life far too short to worry about £1.50![]()
