YouTube Premium

I agree some to take it over the line.

The thing to consider is that these baked in promotions exist because the money that comes from platform generally isn’t really enough to fund a a channel with a big staff.

The other thing to consider is that Sky et al are not putting these clips out of the goodness of their hearts, it’s blatantly a response to piracy.

If Sky sports don’t do it, someone else will and Sky have to pay staff to undertake a whackamole exercise to squash them 24/7 365 because they can’t stop them being uploaded. They might as well upload them themselves, claim the Adsense and utilise the benefits of the content management system to claim all the other Adsense from the re-uploads.

If sky could get away with not giving it away for ‘free’ and put it all behind a paywall, they would.

YouTube premium isn’t cheap, but it’s not bad value and I don’t find YouTube music any worse than Spotify in reality.

It is unlikely to replace Spotify ever for me though. Personally I dislike the tactics YT have used combined with things like history and search, etc. functionality which would be laughable on a 90s web-page and so on while asking the price they are, not using music, etc. the NZ price feels like that maximum that is a good value for the product to me.

Gl.iNet Slate AX :p

Travels with me for work, works brilliantly in the office, plug my external drive in and it's a media server and the control panel is fantastic and easy to use.

I make extensive use of the repeater function for networks I connect it to and its not skipped a beat.

The included ad blocker when switched on makes webpages, forums and news sites incredibly clean.

(Sorry, doesn't block youtube ads)

Wifi 6 and easy setup vpns are a bonus too. Sure you could buy some small box for cheaper, load on some software and work it out. But this works out the box right away.

Go find a video :D

I bought the Beryl AX :)

Has anyone had any luck signing up while genuinely in one of these countries?

Only ask as I'm in India in a couple of weeks. Would it be the location you signed up in? Or the card's registered address that give you away?

I tried when I was in Turkey and it was having none of it, I assume due to my non Turkish payment card.
