They finally got me, I'll probably just switch to one of the third party apps now as most of my viewing is done on my phone these days and I don't use music.

It looks like they catch you on renewal day so it'll renew for another month and then they fire the email out to tell you you've got a month to give them a local payment card.

I got the "We don't think you live in Argentina" email a couple of weeks ago. I tried several alternatives - Turkey, Egypt among a few others with no luck - however I finally got a family account via Ecuador. Not as cheap as it was via Argentina bit still about a third of a price of a UK family sub.

I got booted from the Indian sub because they sent an email to say I needed to agree to a price increase. Because it’s not an email address I ever really look at I missed the deadline for agreeing and the sub was cancelled.

Find a VPN which works to let you sign up in a cheaper country and then cross your fingers Google don't notice you for a while.
Other than that sign up for a family UK sub and find some people to split the cost with.
YouTube just randomly decided to link the app on my TV and phone. A feature that is monumentally annoying.
Sometimes I look at comments on one video on my phone while playing another video. Not possible if your devices are linked as your TV starts whatever you open on your phone.

A Premium Family lite would be very tempting if it was half the price of the full blown sub. The whole family would like to get rid of ads and don't care about YT music or background play. Too many different devices and TV use to faff around with apps etc amd keep it all up to date. I only ever use YT on my PC when painting, most of it is phone or TV via Firestick.
