YouTube Premium

You are years late to this party I’m afraid.

YouTube is currently engaged in a whackamole campaign and is systematically kicking people off weekly who are signing up in cheaper countries.

Almost everyone has been rumbled at this point. Sure, a few have got back on to another cheaper country but they’ll be kicked off again in a few weeks.

The only way which hasn’t yet had any reports of being kicked off is the gift card approach.
Thought as much. The usual UK tax! Getting charged American prices on much less disposable/higher taxed income

What's everyone's thoughts of YouTube Music?

I'd resigned myself to just dealing with not having Premium anymore, but it occured to me that I'm paying 16 quid a month for a duo Spotify account. I'd never really given YT Music much thought, but it comes bundled with YT Premium...so maybe I should just ditch Spotify and suck up a full price YT Premium subscription instead. I've tried to prepare for a life without YT Premium (switched to Brave browser, already have Smart Tube TV on the Firestick) but I think I will miss it.

I've been using YT Music for my last few days before my Argentinian Premium account has to go and so far, I'm not sure it is any worse than Spotify. Seems to have all the Podcasts I subscribe to, works okay on Android Auto...only thing it doesn't seem to have is audiobooks.

Used YouTube music for years, it’s fine, I think people prefer what they know be that Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube music.
Same, I’ve used all 3, it’s fine and equivalent.

I find it odd that people have such strong views over their choice of music app, they are all so similar you are basically splitting hairs unless you go with something like Tidal where they have an actual USP.

I don't really have any allegiance, it's more that there's a few oddities about it which I don't like (like in YT music, you don't just "follow" artists, you "subscribe" to them...and then that means they appear in your normal Youtube subscriptions, which I don't want).
And it seems that the only easy way to transfer Spotify data (playlists, podcasts, etc) to YT Music is to use paid services which do it for you. I know it's not really a big thing to change, but I'd like to see if there's any sort of big things YT Music misses out on compared to Spotify.

Used it for years now and it's great. Algorithms rarely throw up something I don't like and you'd be mad to pay for Spotify on top of you're already paying for YT premium
