YouTube Premium

Seems like YT, probably following Amazon, have significantly upped the ad load and inserted midroll ads on older videos even when creators have declined them... some videos are literally unwatchable without ad block...

There was a recent change to midrolls. I'm in the youtube partner program now, saw some blurb about it.

Supposed to be more intelligent about insertion of midrolls, to not interrupt things and find more natural breaks, but obviously cramming more ads in too.

Worth a mention again, if you or anyone you know, is a student or works in a school/university, get the student plan. Full Premium for 9 quid a month or so.

Just need to register with the ".ac.uk" email address to prove academic use.

£72 a year really isn’t bad considering some of the videos I watch on there are better produced than stuff you find on Netflix etc.

youtube pays musicians less than video content contributors - so a videos only subscription unlikely to be any cheaper (for those that don't want music)

After moving from YT&tidal to spotify for better carplay quality, with its inbuilt equalizer, just discovered spotify has a woeful catalog of movie soundtrack albums - this is just BS
(interstellar, driver, pulp fiction, sunshine, apocalypse now, ...)
