Try Windscribe, or Urban VPN.
Last time I did it for a friend a couple months ago, it was on his Android phone as it wasn't working on my desktop. Just opened YT app, put Urban VPN to Ukraine, YT memberships showed UKR price, pressed buy and was done within 30 seconds. A card already needs to be on the account and able to be selected.

I had the same popup last night i was like wtf? did the same as you, hit the X and carried on as usual
Just had it again this morning but only on the first video i tried, hasn't come up again since EDIT: has just popped up again 4-5 vids later :/

I had that for a few days, then it started counting down videos I could watch before they blocked the video player from loading.
For now you can enable extensions in Incognito Mode (I'm using chrome), turn on your preferred ad blocker and it still blocks ads that way and you get no pop ups.

Anyone old like me who remembers the dawn of the internet can remember when there were hardly any adverts
But the problem these days is that people know no better and in my experience the younger generations seem to just accept them whilst watching media. I've watched the kids, nephews, nieces and their friends just blindly ignore them like they aren't even there.Whereas I have a tiny meltdown and leave the room when watching anything with an ad

How else do you suggest they pay for that monstrously expensive platform? youtube ads currently represent something like 80% of their income, the rest being youtube premium subs. Without the ads, youtube wouldn't be viable.
