Z4/M Owners Thread

No longer an owner sadly, but had a 07 Z4C 3.0si from 2013-2016. Absolutely brilliant car and really really miss it, but I went from 6k per year to 18k per year and it had to go :(.

My 2013 35iS in mineral white. Had it since last March and it still puts a smile on my face. Exhaust has gotten a lot more vocal too with the 13k miles I've put on it since buying.

Just been in a for an oil service and vehicle check, as well as some new rear brake pads (only paid the £218 for the pads as it has a service pack).

£218 for rear pads!?

Dear god, mine need doing, kings cross station here I come!

Well, it was actually £208, but it's still a decent chunk of money. To be fair the pads themselves are around £120 on ECP and I didn't really want the hassle of messing around with the electronic handbrake on the rear axle.

Combine this with the fact it was in the dealer for a couple of days anyway for service and a wheel refurb AND the fact I'm really a very lazy person I was happy to pay the extra for it to be someone else's problem.

Had a look at a Z4M today. Sadly it wasn't the most loved example. A dealer has it, previous owner was a smoker, so that killed it in an instant. It had been resprayed, the paint lacked depth, it's solid red. Inside looked a bit old and grubby, the cd changer had been removed and hole left to stuff an alternative device in. The roof was slower and more clunky than mine.
I didn't bother driving it, as I wasn't going to buy it.
I know they are in limited numbers, but not convinced yet they are worth some of the asking prices.

How much was it?

Suspension refresh done! Did the rear trailing arm bushes today which ended up in the eBay tool breaking and me having to fashion a replacement with some of the parts!

Alignment booked for Monday morning.

Also did brake/clutch fluid flush and CDV delete, only the diff and gearbox oil to do at some point now, although I feel it may be a while!

Time to enjoy now!

No I am keeping it, was going to look into getting a Boxster S but a much newer car is out of budget and I don't fancy changing to a similar aged car.
Looking at 987's adverts as well, around the 13-15k mark, my fear is they will just be a money pit to maintain. Are they not a bit common and the back end styling is a bit naff? 2.7 or 3.2, manual or tiptronic? I still have a soft spot for the Z'd

Noticed all my M badges had started to go white so just been to BMW and ordered replacements for all 3. Total cost = all the money in the world.

How much? Mine got nicked and I purchased cheap Chinese replacements, but ones fallen off in the heat after 6 months of use.

I kind of expected that price after the cost of buying the BMW badges. It's a late birthday present for it. That's my excuse.
