Sorry the testing by me was in games I never tried it in benchmarks tbh with so much v going though it I doubt I would have cooled it I have only benched at 4.3ghz I will try again tonight at 4.4 though when I finish work

Oh, no need to apologize. Was just asking cos the 37 suppose to boost to 4.4GHz at optimal default. Like Gen 1 and 1+. Appreciate the effort. Looking forward to your results.

I can give you a little info on mine.

At [email protected] on all cores, it will run CB to 4990
At [email protected] on all cores, it will run CB at 5050

Between 4250 & 4300 all volt changes between 1.369 & 1.4 Failed with a CB crash.

Thank you. I see an issue missing out of 100MHz. In Cinebench, i understand cos it normally uses all cores between base clock and boost clock in MT. For example, with the 2700X it runs all cores close to 4GHz and no where near its boost clock. But in ST, it should boost to 4.4GHz in one or two cores.

But, does your cpu boosts to 4.4GHz in one or two cores during idle? At load during games, it should also behave same way.

At idle everything is in sleep mode apart from the odd appearance of anything between 400mhz and 4.3GHZ on a single core. I'll run time spy for you now and let you know what's going on.

Done some playing on my 3900X. have a 25/7 overclock of 4.2 @ 1.3V. Can bench at 4.3 with 1.475 volt and boot at 4.4 (same volts). Have my TridentZ 3600 cl16 running at 3800 C16 with the Infinity Fabric manually clocked to 1900Mhz to keep it at 1:1.

I was just looking at your score in the cinebench thread. Even keeping the memory at 1:1 after 3600 there does not seem to be much improvement. Tempted to lower my RAM and see if i can get the CPU stable at lower volts

I've not messed with the ram at all, I've seen there's very little benefit in doing so. I could lower the voltage a touch I think. I had to set LLC to high though.

Your voltage is impressive for 4.35. I can boot at 1.25 at 4.3 but need 1.375 to get it stable. Out of curiosity what are your settings ?

What is LLC?

Basically as above. It preemptively applies more voltage when a load is applied to compensate for voltage dropping under load. Without it, your voltage would drop under high load and cause instability.

I do think I have a fairly decent CPU though. Just a shame the boost and idle doesn't work!

Does anybody else have a MSI 400 series motherboard with the latest BIOS? Be interested to know what MSI's 'Game Boost' is doing for people, they added this with their 1.0.0.3ab BIOS the other day.

On my 3700X it puts it to 4.2GHz all core but the reported voltages in Ryzen Master and HWiNFO64 are comparatively low compared to doing it manually (1.2v vs 1.35+). Temps seem much more reasonable too though it puts all fans at 100% by default.

Better performance than PBO for all core loads, though I can get slightly more with a high voltage OC to 4.275GHz.

Old Rig.

G3258 Intel cooler >.<
MSI z91 I AC
8GB DDr3 2133
GTX 750Ti

New Rig.

3700x
MSI B450 Carbon AC (hopefully msi sorts out the bios)
32GB Corsair Vengeance CL 16 3200mhz
Sapphire 5700XT (when released)

No more. Stuttering when gaming. Cuz i don't meet the minimum spec. Woo hoo!

At least till the goal posts get moved again. :p
