What are you supplying for that guarantee? Do you actually know how important CPU microcode in BIOS is to make a processor perform as expected?

All of my cores on my 3700 can reach boost speed of 4.4 when manually OCing. So the question is really does the 3900 have extra capacity to hit 4.6.

My problem is I need 1.5v to hit 4.5 on a single core and with that all other cores are downgraded automatically to 2ghz and it still overheats when running CB.

The thermals to reach high clocks for any period of time are staggering on my chip.
 
Got my 3900x @ 4.3Ghz all core 1.38v, Ram/IF @ 3667/1833. Still seems stable and load temp is holding around 65-70 degrees.

I'm happy with my current settings for now, maybe we will get a reliable 4.6 boost with agesa update.....

Manual ocing is a different kettle of fish. I'm referring to PBO.

Voltage is a touch high, 1.325v is the max recommended for all cores. Which is what I'm running for 4.35ghz.
 
I'm seeing elsewhere that people running 3600 memory are seeing the stunted boost clocks also.

"3600 is the sweet spot" my arse....

I’m going to try run my 3600 at 3400 and see what happens to boost clocks.

Case in point. My 2700x with it's advertised 4.3GHz has never boosted beyond 4.1GHz. After well over a year of BIOS maturity.

My 2700X on a Gigabyte X370 gaming 3 shows boosts up to 4.35Ghz in HW monitor on a single core. Sustained boost is lower though which is in line with most tests.

Is it? I just went straight in at 1.4v after seeing PBO running it at 1.45+, I even tried my luck with 4.4Ghz at 1.475v.

Been working the voltage down to see how low it keeps stable, next stop 1.35. Are you setting loadline calibration? Mines still on auto not sure how it's behaving vs manual setting.

Will be interesting to see if 3200 vs 3600 ram helps with the boost and how the benchmarks compare.
