for u guys that came from 2500k-2600k, is the difference totally massive ?
got my 3600 sitting here lonley need board still
Good god it’s massive! I was sitting open mouthed for the first hour in amazement at how quickly it was doing everything. Cinebench R20 score for my 2500k was about 700. My 3900x racks up 7300! Basically over 10 times quicker.for u guys that came from 2500k-2600k, is the difference totally massive ?

It's hard to define poorly optimized a game with great graphics (especially the latest dlc) - performance is in line with other AAA titles. It's poorly optimised, like so many Ubisoft titles. Great game though!

But I’m not dissing the 2500k. Imo, that CPU is Intel’s finest moment.
most reviewers dont like investing time to check stuff like this out...
Asus X470-F
I kind of sorted it now, the PBO appears in a couple of places in the BIOS, enabling it from one menu it is ok.
Playing around with Vcore now.
the lower I make the Vcore, the higher it boosts, but the lower the score in Benchmark.
Ryzen master shows every core pinned at
-0.15 offset = 4200ish
-0.1 offset = 4100ish
-0.05 offset = 4000ish
Very weird chips, have been on sandybridge for last 7/8 years and it seemed a lot more straight forward
the theory is that lower voltage = lower temps and allows the cpu to boost more.Lowering voltage is not recommended. It harms performance.
My brother got his 3700X build up and running last night. He upgraded from a 2700K Sandybridge. He's running it out of the box and his temps were around 35 degrees with just Origin and Youtube loaded and 0.9v and best I could tell from reading Ryzen Master downclocked to 400MHz, he's cooled by a Corsair H150. While downloading Apex Legends and watching Youtube it boosted to 4.3GHz using 1.4v but I don't know what his temps were doing as he didn't have software installed at the time to monitor it. At the time I was looking at XMP in the BIOS he didn't have Windows installed so I didn't bother to check if it was on or off. No idea what his BIOS version is and if I tell him to flash it he'd probably tell me to **** off.
He's on a fresh Windows 10 install due to getting the Corsair MP600.
If anyone has questions I'll try and answer, but I can say with 80% certainty if it involves benchmarks he'll tell me and you to **** off. He just wants to play and can we really blame him?
Oh and I forgot to mention he put all this into the be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 Rev.2 case and put a 2070 Super in there too, moving up from a GTX 780.
AMD have said not to undervolt. You may see higher boost clocks but you lose performance from it due to how it works.
This simply is not universally true. Please see my post above https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/posts/32885009
Certain undervolting (too much, too little) can start reducing performance but there are sweet spots where one can reduce temps and maintain or improve performance.
So you are posting in the owners thread because your brother has one? And you'll try and help answer any questions that he's likely to tell anyone to **** off?
