I actually far preferred watching zidane to any of the new gen greats. Just the style of football i liked.

Aye agreed, football's been poorer now that the majority of teams have reverted to 451 instead of 442. Sure the goals scored are probably the same but there was just a much better spectacle a few years back.

It could also have to do with the fact that the two best players in the world atm are a poofy girl, and a Messi - who looks a bit too humble at times. Zidane and the older players carried their class much better.

the thing with zidane was he made it look so easy, and he had a lot to his game, he could skin 3 players if he wanted to, or open up play, amazing passer, etc. sometimes by taking 1 player out he had created so much space, he never had pace, but used his skill to make his opponents literally trip up over themselves because they had no clue what just happened.

messi uses ball control and pace, ronaldo uses tricks, but mostly all of his tricks include pace, by knocking the ball away from him, zidane used ball control and skill/tricks.

All over the world...
Zlatan would rather stand around eating the orange, mind.

LOL:D indeed but Zidane was a class apart when he was in his prime...still remember him taking Brazil apart in the 98 WC final...simply immense but sadly hes also known for his ugly chest butt on Materazzi in the 06 final:(.
