Zombicide!

I caved in and ordered TCM from Amazon yesterday and it arrived while I was cooking the sunday roast. Managed to squeeze in the first mission this evening with my daughter before Top Gear and it was was nice having some different characters to try out.

I am going to have to see how the harder missions are with all the equipment cards in the deck, as even with out Ultrared stuff, that got a bit too easy way to fast. Probably didn't help that the decks weren't that well shuffled and had blocks of new cards together. Shame it will be a week before we get to play again.

We didn't even use Ultrared, it was just the extra basic equipment that came up early that did it, like the assault rifle and hollow point ammo/rifle combo. It was an easy mission and I suppose we are used to working as team in some of the hard player created ones, so I think we will either skip the easy ones or tweak the deck for a challenge.

We found our first go of TCM rather hard - plenty of gear but each round saw us clean up the board but never make any forward progress!

All I remember about it though was the map was 1x4 in shape!

That's fantastic work Jed, really clean lines. I love the expression on his face. The Guest Artist sets are still on my 'must buy' list. I still haven't painted any of my stuff, really should pull my finger out and get a move on before S3 KS arrives.

Thanks mate, really pleased with how he turned out. The stripes took a few goes before I got them evenly spread out though :D

In case anyone finds this useful, I made up some equipment card holders using 45mm Mayday sleeves, cut down and stuck together with double sided sellotape. I was fed up with them sliding everywhere:

Not the easiest thing to photograph, but I've cut out the front part of each sleeve so that the cards slide in easier. Works like a dream.

Oh, and I'm waiting for season 3 as well, wave 1 hits the shores March 5th... fingers crossed mines on the first container :D

^^^snap on that hope! :D

I've laminated the player cards and have wipe clean markers in the box to make tracking levels/skills much less messy but that idea with the sleeves is great!

Stick a bit of velcro on the back and on the player cards and BAM! :D

Consider that card holder idea well and truelly nicked, cracking idea. I am a neat freak with cards but anyone else who plays has so much trouble keeping their cards on the board. Then there is my daughter's dreaded cardie/hoodie sleeve swipe :D.

Where did you order the compendium from? I have been looking for it and it seems to be sold out in most places or about £35 to order from the US

It's available on the CMON website for $19.99 shipping isn't too expensive ($7) and I don't think there is any import duty to be paid on books so shouldn't come in with any additional fees.

Just ordered one myself.

How did you maintain the rigidity?

How did you maintain the rigidity?

The double sided tape just holds it together and it's pretty robust. There's not that much weight to the whole thing so it won't really sag.

Oh, and I used Uncle Honk for the first time on the weekend. He ended up with two machete's and carved his way through a load of zombies. Great fun :D Not quite as awesome as Josh with his dual SMGs, laser pointers and plenty of ammo. Rerolling 6 dice looking for 4's if I remember correctly. He got the nickname "Annihilator".

I'm still trying to get a game with Doug in which he hits red level, takes ambidextrous and then finds a chainsaw! Carnage! :D

Must break out PO and TCM more often too!
I thought the chainsaw was a 2 handed weapon which is unable to be used with ambidextrous skill, as far as I know the only weapons that count for that are the pistols, the saw-off shotguns, the Uzis & the machete, I could be wrong as I have not played in a while but I think the equipment cards have a symbol that displays a dual weald sign on them.

Ambidextrous allows for any weapon to be used as a dual wield - it even pulls out the Doug/Chainsaw combo out on the Zombicide website:

http://zombicide.com/en/blog-doug-the-salaryman

50 rolls per move potential.

But Doug achieves his greatest potential if he manages to get TWO chainsaws at Red Level. With his “Ambidextrous” ability, he can throw FIFTY dice per turn (5 attacks with 10 dice each)!

Has anyone got their S3 Kickstarter stuff through yet? I know all the stuff has reached the German hub so I thought at least some of us would have gotten stuff through by now. Just hoping it arrives before I go to New York on Good Friday.
