Zombicide!

Rules read, missus up for a weekend of Zombicide seeing as its a long weekend :)

Now though its put me in the mood of painting the figures! Haven't done one in at least 20 years, so found this vide to start with ...

My question is .. will the "Warpaints Zombicide Core Zombie Set" which I have found online at an Aus seller be enough for these or will there any anything extra I need to get??

Or should I go for the Citadel-Base-Paint-Set and see about picking up the QuickShade as well?

I suspect whatever happens will end up costing me a lot of time and money over the next few months :)

I have those paints although still unopened!

Apparently very good but also extremely thick so need a lot of thinning with water to get a good coat.

I also grabbed some coloured primer as well to speed up the base coat. The weather is against me every time I get a day off though :p

I've used that paint set, with one or two other individual colours for my zombicide zombies... I did use a couple of colour primers from Army Painter ( Necrotic Flesh, Barbarian Flesh & Skeleton Bone ) to speed up the process a little bit, and add a little variety to skin tones..

I posted some pics of my in progress work earlier in this thread .. when I get home later, I'll put some up of the finished zombies, with blood and varnish layer...

Guys, completly new to Zombicide, (Only recently got back into any boardgames) Where should I start I can see a lot of expansions and the base game, and people talking about season 3 and such... I'm confused :)

What do i need to buy and how expensive is it going to get!?

Mine has turned up before any tracking details etc, cant wait to get home and unbox, apparently there are 2 huge boxes?.. not sure why there are 2, but cant wait to find out!

To get started, I'd say you only really need the Zombicide base game ( season 1 ), theres quite a bit of playability in that, so I'd start there, and then look to expand if you like it, there are 3 seasons ( Zombicide, Prison Outbreak & Rue Morgue ) and an expansion for both season 2 ( Toxic City Mall ) and season 3 ( Angry Neighbours ).

There are huge amounts of extra things that can be acquired, extra zombies, a book of scenarios etc, additional player characters ( some of which are limited edition / kickstarter exclusive and as such there is a premium on acquiring those )so it can soon add up...

Im pretty sure each of the 3 main season boxes are stand alone games, but I tned to play combined.. season 1 / 2 and the expansion.

cheers for that, after having a look round, I guess amazon is the best place to grab this new? does anywhere sell second hand board games?

I tend to use amazon, a lot of other online sellers list their stuff on amazon anyway, you could also try the bay, and board game geek marketplace, I'd expect to be paying £55ish, its quite an expensive base set, but it contains 70 or so minis...

Mine just arrived - there's shed loads!

5 boxes of zombies, dice, card holders - must be around 200 figures.

I will be an old man before any of this gets painted. This is the last Zombicide purchase for a while!

Yep, Its £55 on amazon, seems a good price for what you get, looks like a hell of a lot in the box. Just wasnt sure if there was a better retailer to use :)

My thoughts too!

Mine came on Monday but I've been too busy/tired to do anything about it. Also wondering where to store half of the damn stuff :p

(Also considering selling some of the KS exclusives to fund this :D)
