Utterly disappointing.

Melodramatic, badly paced, horrible lead actor (both in ability and character) and just not much fun to watch. Some of the effects were great. I liked Godzilla (when it appeared) and it had a good opening 15 mins. Gutted. After all that hype. 5/10.

There was talk about the movie budget a while back, wiki is saying 10-12 million $, and it's pulled in $115. Would it ever be possible to do a movie like this for that low a budget? Maybe hire cheaper actors and throw most of the budget into effects?

It's been less than a week since Godzilla Minus One started streaming in Japan, and it's become the most pirated movie worldwide right now
Well most movies are cammed as soon as they first hit cinema release, so that's no surprise. So it's only out on streaming in Japan is what you're saying? So people over here talking about it are just pirating? Justwatch doesnt seem to think it's available on streaming in the UK.

Just watched this now, despite the high budget it still retains that ( intentional ) B movie feel that some might not enjoy or have anticipated. If you're expecting the Hollywood take you're going to be disappointed.

Entertaining but misrepresented by all the hype I'd say.

It wasnt too bad I thought a different take on godzilla the cgi was decent and we had a more villian take on him, the hollywood version no doubt is lots of cgi with the main star on full display.

We had somewhat boring charactors and plot lines even in the hollywood review monsterverse imo.

Is the way Godzilla walks in this meant to be paying homage to one of the older movies? It couldn't look more stiff if they tried. Upper body stays rigid, one leg moves forward and plants the foot, (pause for a second and a bit) the other leg moves forward and plants the foot, meanwhile the upper body and arms are in a fixed position. Just looks odd like its a giant action figure with only leg articulation.
