Another vote for electric buck here. Run up to him, hit him in the face until you have to reload, run away and find some cover while you do then repeat. I usually go for two reloads of the shottie, then finish the last bit off with the tommy w/ ap rounds.

1/ The UI, my god at times i swear it covers a good third of my 24" screen when lots of stuff pop up, the general interface and icons are huge, and the target reticle is bigger than my eyeball!

2/ Some of the textures are appalling, yes, the water is nice, and some of outside views of the city are spectacular, but in general, even at my res all maxed out, some of it is ghash.
 
Whats realy spoiling this game for me is my complete lack of ammo/dollars :confused:
I must be about 3/4 of the way through, about to go into Ryans Office I think, and for as long as I can remember I have had pretty much no ammo, nada nothing.
I'm playing through on medium and while I loved the first few levels, with more ammo than I could carry, it then seemed to just stop.
I am having to leave big daddys because I just don't have the ammo to kill them.
It's got to the point where I am having to just use the wrench and keep respawning in the vita chambers.
Im not wasting it either, there just does'nt seem to be any around and no where near enough dollars to keep buying it.

What difficulty are you playing it on? On Normal I rarely had any issues with lack of anything, I had issues with only being able to hold $500 when I have a four figure counter though. Maybe you're not looking hard enough for ammo?
 
I've almost finished it on normal, and I'm at 500 dollars most of the time with plenty of ammo..gets a little tighter later as splicers get more hp. I can't see how you could be not finding ammo, just search bodies/containers etc, and explore..
 
With the 1st Big daddy I hit him and ran out to the pavilion entrance where I jumped on the sign/chandelier there he couldn't reach me :D. It was funny to see him run around and dive at me whilst I finished him off unhurt.
 
Hhhmm well I have been exploring, guess not well enough. I remember in the early parts of the game I had more ammo than I could carry.
I have had very few dollars though, maybe topping out at 200 which I spend on armor piercing to kill the big daddies.
Health and Eve are always ok, just never have any ammo. normal difficulty.
Going back into it now to try to finish it off, can't help but think that im spoiling it by having to leave big daddies behind due to lack of ammo :(
 
SPOILERS INCLUDED.

Ive been playing the game on normal. Not finished it yet though, just had my fight with ryan. Ive found the money, ammo etc scarse too, but it makes it so much more fun !

The only bit the ground my gears was where your plasmids are unstable.
 
Finished it now..got a bit dull towards the end where the splicers got more hp; would be better to have more with lower hp - the bits in the game where you get mobbed are the most exciting combat-wise.

I'm confused too - one of the chief complaints about the game is the over-abundance of ammo/etc, even on hard mode.

I was rarely, if ever even remotely low on anything. And I'm not the hoarder type :)

There's a section where "code yellow" is mentioned that started to get a little hairy at times, but even then it wasn't particularly challenging.
 
Ive completed the game and i thought it was pretty good, nothing amazing, like its made out to be. But i did enjoy it and some of the parts of the game are quite disturbing:eek::)

I got shoulder barged by the an elite big daddy and as sson as i got up i saw him hurtling towards me again. But this time he stopped just in front of me i looked down to see a little sister blocking him, so out came my wrench and killed him with just that:)
 
Meh the bug that stops the game loading the point prometheus level has got me :mad: have tried the few suggestions posted on the offical forum but still no luck, I just get hit with the Bioshock.exe has performed an error and will now close.
As for ammo, I have no ammo for any weapon at this stage, but it's kinda nice to go crazy with the wrench with the wrench jockey eerrr plug-in.
(tell a lie, I have some liquid nitrogen in the chemical weapon which sorta does nothing but look good)
 
Liquid Nitrogen is reasonably useful for hacking, at least :) Saves you a little adam if you don't buy the freeze plasmid.

Have you tried going back a save and playing through? I've often had saves just completely mess up and had to back-track. Annoying, but not too hard if you regularly change your save slot.

Yeah but it still crashes as it loads up the next level, suprised there as been no patch yet.
Tried dropping all the graphics down, no luck, ran through the previous level, no luck. XP too, I would expect this of Vista not XP :p

Question: Is it possible to activate this without an internet connection? (will be without a connection for a week or 2).

No, it even says on the box an internet connection is required to activate.
 
Top Game so far I say :)

Running on high on my machine spec below with no lag.

Currently just got past the submarine and taking my time looking around and getting the most from it. Amazing what you can find when you look everywhere ;)
