Sega Rally Revo PC

It's not a proper racing arcade game :( It's missing the "dink" after you pass the lap checkpoint and a "final lap" message.

does anyone find that the menu is really slow coz i am its like that menu is running at 5 fps or is it ment to be like that but gameplay is perfect:confused:

Maje sure you do not have Super AA forced ON in your Nvida Drivers as thats why i
I had issues, it messes with the games Video Menu settings, I was running like 13FPS lol.

Just tried the demo and it ran at 1650x1050 at full settings on one of my 7800GTX's ( non sli ) perfectly and no slowdowns. Is the demo a realistic demonstration of the performance of the full game? if so i think ill be getting it.

Fun to play and runs like a dream.

Doesn't seem to bad a game, stays quite faithful to Sega Rally on the Saturn in that your car seems able to pivot independently of its wheels i.e. it's almost like a spinning top that can turn around the central point. Although, I found the steering on the Golf much less responsive - guess it must be down to the FWD.

Graphically it is nothing special, although the particle effects are nice (mud etc) and the cars look OK up close. I think it is the tracks which let it down, most of them don't look all that. Performance is mostly OK for me on a [email protected]/GTS320 rig, generally in the 50-90fps range although a few tracks (alpine) drop into the 30s. That's at 1680x1050 2xMSAA 16xAF max settings except shadows, reflections and mirror turned down a notch.

On the plus side, the sound is good especially when you get 3rd party vehicles (planes, helicopters, motorbikes) passing - really adds to the atmosphere.

Its not displacement mapping.. The track deformation is a high dense mesh that actually deforms as ou drive over it.. Its 1 poly per 6 cm... so on a 20 meter wide track thats a lot of polygons :) But obviously it lowers in res asit goes into the distance.. I think there is an average 1.2 million polys on screen for the track alone on screen.. but 100x of million stored on the entire track

We have put a small "Technology" of sega rally video together.. think its on the main Sega Rally site.. or on 360 live market place.

Thanks very much for the explanation Nintenjo. Always nice to understand how a particular effect/gameplay element is achieved technically.

Do you work at SRS then ?

Why don't you have it running in SLI:cool:

anyone else having problems running the launcher part of this game, i can run the main program fine, but the launcher fails everytime, which means i cant adjust graphics settings or sort out controls for my DFP a tad annoying, have tryed installing several times now, same happens every time.

dissapointing to say the least, i reckon if i could get things set up i'd quite enjoy the game, it looks quite good and was a laugh even if i did have to play with keyboard and tiny resolution, but until i can get things set up i wont be touching the game agian.

anyone having this issue, heard of anyone having this issue or have any ideas for a solution?

What adsactly is happening?
Did you update the Direct X when it prompts you too (Update it even if you think you have the latest as whats on the DVD adds something you don't have).
What OS are you on, I'll take a wild guess at Vista.
