But that is a machine of the present, so his statement was 100% accurate.

While I myself am not a big fan of the future proof route they have taken, Cryteks plan always was that this game would test systems in two years time. By that logic, very high should be accessible to no one right now. I'm sure we will be glad of it in two years time, but it is an annoying tease to be able to give very high a try now only to be bitterly disappointed. Although, I'm guessing Very High will be realistic in a much shorter time period.
 
To all of the people who fine it unacceptable for it to run like poo on high end machines...what the hell are you on about? Are you totally against progression? Crytek have said that it will scale years back and ahead - so I have no idea why you're moaning about it not running on maximum spec.

I'm on my way over that way :D Honestly though, the piccy's don't do this justice, it looks miles better in-game. You gotta see this lot with 6 tornados going in sandbox its out of this world, it looks real & you see them sucking koreans and boats up into the sky lol
 
I dont get why people are moaning so much about not being able to play maxed, as others have said, surely its a good thing that the developers have given room for the game to 'grow' as such and sort of improve with age. Id rather that games were planned for the future rather than current tech being able to blast them with no hassle whatsoever.
 
I know some people are saying things like 'I just got a GTX for Crysis' and 'high end machine'.. well we have to remember the GTX is a year old now and Crysis has just been released :D

AA is off, everything else on very high, and it was mid blur, looks good ;]
But runs slows!

Turned down a few to get it to about 25-40fps depending where I am and what i'm doing.

Good News !!! people with quad cores will feel the full benifit when the full game comes out as the full game will use quad cores so expect 10-20 % increase in fps when the full game comes out or at least thats what I heard :D
 
come on guys , this game engine is way beyond hl2 or bioshock! or does everyone need the eye doc!,

Just look at how much detail and items are happening real time in crysis , is it any wonder that it is bringing comps to there knees ?

The detail etc on very high is nothing short of breathtaking! and anyone who says different is blind or just wants to argue for no reason i have hl2 ep2 and there is no part of the games has as much going on as crysis , why do people say the game is unoptimized? christ the game is streets ahead in image quality and a fully destructable enviroment ,if your compdoesnt have the BEST then turn the dam detail setting down , why do people with £150 graphics card moan cause they cant play it at max, why do you think the devs put the settings in there! and before gtx owners say but it runs slow on my comp , turn the 20000 x 20000 res down! and please stop harping on about the xbox360 guys , turn the res down to 800x 600 and tell me it isnt smooth? and compare it to the xboz games! has people gone mad , saying that this game is just an updated farcry?

Ok the game plays the same , but it is a FPS what do you expect , this is a 1st level demo ,

I cant even run it on high at 40+fps (i dont consider anything below 40 as acceptable personally) even on a borrowed GTX

I have to agree with him, i would expect it to be played on high settings on current hardware. Ultra high is another story though as you rightly say, but the engine seems to be downright poor performance wise
