How last night effected me...

I drove to Colchester to pick up some new car seats, switched off all the lights in the house, locked the gate. left the hifi on for the dogs to listen to and left the area!

I did have one trick or treat while I was trying to get into my car and leave though.

All the Chavs out last night need their legs breaking.

Well, spent all day in hospital waiting for an operation, eventually got rolled in at 4pm, then it took me until 9.30pm to get home by which time all the kids had been and gone (the girlfriend having to dish out all the sweeties!). One plus point she mentioned was that no young teens/chavs tried it on this year (you know the type, buy a plastic face mask and try to get sweets out of you!). On a side note though, i would rather have been in to give the sweets out than having the op and now having to walk around the house like an 80yr old not able to lift anything heavier than a bag of sugar for the next few weeks.

:(

I had one knock on the door, which I ignored; this constitutes a massive decrease in nuisance from last year. Hopefully, the message is starting to get through that the whole Trick or Treat fad associated with All-hallow-even is just a stupid, morally bankrupt Americanism that has no place in our society.

Nothing really happened for me, went round to a friends house for a few beers, a take-away and a rubbish film (Van Helsing in case anyone cares). Rather pleasant overall if slightly unexciting compared to the usual. :)

You're wrong on All accounts & at least what i wrote came from my life rather than posting a rehash of someone elses a.

That's what summarising is.

It doesn't read very well, I was just trying clarify what you were saying. As usual you become over defensive at your inability to write a coherent post.

Anyway, ours was fine here; had a few kids come round (maybe 15-20) and gave them some sweets, no trouble from anyone clearly too old or just being a nuisance.

You're wrong on All accounts .

Bit of a late edit but if I'm wrong on all accounts then there wasn't a seagull, it wasn't caught, nobody helped and you scored?

You must have been talking complete ********.

Had about 4 lots of brats knock at the door last night, all successfully avoided and no repercussions as far as I can tell! Not like we had anything to give them anyway. Most of the evening spend demolishing a lovely takeaway curry :)

Who are you to judge how it reads :p Why just post to pull apart is your life that Dull ?

It seems there are a lot of Victor Meldrums in here. Some people have obviously forgotten their childhood. Although mine was maannnyy years ago I gave each kid something. Last year was better though, some kids told a few funny jokes.

Cambourne is still affordable, it's one of the new town builds near Cambridge.

Yeah but it's crap. On one side of small park is nice houses with nice people and the other side is loads of council houses. I know people that live there and won't open their door unless they're expecting people, and even then they'll check out the window first.

I never did Trick or Treat as a child. We had pumpkin lanterns, told scary stories and dressed up as witches, ghouls and ghosts and had parties. We certainly did not terrorise the local neighbourhood and extract money with menaces.

Quite enjoyed that film. Surely Kate Beckinsale makes it worth watching even if you didn't enjoy the rest of it...

Some of the worst accents committed to celluloid (don't point out it was recorded on digital video :p), an implausible plot and utter pointlessness abounds - I'd prefer to watch The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen again which while equally implausible at least has the benefit of being entertaining. Kate Beckinsale was apparantly employed to sound breathless and look pouty in every second shot, don't get me wrong, I'm not against that on principle by any means but in Underworld she does it better and has a less annoying accent. ;)

I only went trick or treating once when I was younger but I used to do the whole pumpkin thing, last night i dressed up in a high visibility jacket, pink tie, white sunglasses, pringles tube for an arm, dolphin claw thing and had a sword, don't ask what I was supposed to be, I was just taking the mick and all in fun, great night.

We didn't have pumpkins.

We had bagey lanterns (tarrrrnips for all you foreigners), we made a Guy and we went knocking on doors shouting "Penny for the guy!"

My girlfriend thinks I'm well ghetto for having bagey lanterns.

Any film with the delicious Kate Beckinsdale in it is worth watching just because she is in it to be pouty and breathless. :)
