Nope, and its a PITA. I have three boot drives and it gets really annoying with a USB keyboard timing the del key to get in the bios to change the boot drive.

You could always use a flash drive. Works well.
 
Just ordered this board would you guys recommend using the official '14' bios or the latest beta bios?

I currently own a Seasonic S12 600W - do you guys know of any potential compatibility issues with this PSU and the IP35 Pro?

I am using that PSU with no problems, I am also using the Shipped 11 bios (if it ain't broke and all that). If you have a few sticks of ram, bear in mind that the board defaults to 1.8v DDR2. So if your ram needs more, say 2.0---2.2v and you get a checksum error on boot for any reason, you willl have to strip it back to 1 stick, go into bios and change the DDR2v to the manufacturers recommended v, then reinstall your ram. It only happened to me once when I goofed a CMOS reset. Great board, good overclocker, very stable :)

Yeah I've got the GeIL PC2-6400C4 2GB kit (paid about £180odd quid for it 13 months ago :D) which runs at 2.1v so I'll keep that in mind, cheers

Dont have a link to the bios at work.

I was booting and mem testing at 510mhz with 4 sticks,

timings were 5.5.5.15 at 2.2v for it though

at 420mhz at the mo as im using a go, which is running at 3.78ghz, have to use 1.68v though, but drops to 1.57v under full load. Also water cooled so not too worried.

As i said above though i passed 2 hours mem test at 510 x 8 4ghz but the cpu was totally unstable in windows. this was using the bootable mem test.

seems to push it hard, the 6400's im finding 100% stable at 1000mhz at 4.4.4.12 but when i use the 1.25 divider they fall flat on their arse. so stuck at 1.2 960mhz for the moment.
 
I had a look at the supported RAM for this Mobo and I was wondering
if anyone had tried using or is using:
2Gb A-Data DDR2-800 PC2-6400 Vitesta CL4 Dual Channel

It runs at stock 1.85V.

If yes then what kind of results did you achieve Overclocking this RAM.
 
Certainly I know that people have run Adata DDR2 800 on the IP35 series incl. running 4x1Gb succesfully.
Whether that exact part I couldn't say though.
 
hi just getting mine tomorrow - wondering what drivers to use - the ones that come with the ip35 pro on disc, the ones on abit's website or the ones listed at the start of this thread? the thread ones seem more recent, but the chipset driver is a generic intel one - will this work ok with micro guru?

Also do i need to install the "Jmicron installation disk" before the "Jmicron SATA drivers"?

Sorry for being such a noob - haven't done this in a while :p

@ Bony Maloney: how comes you've upped all your voltages, and not just you're Vcore and Northbridge?

Just to let you know, I'm at 3.6 by just upping the Vcore to 1.4875.
Next step was the RAM, which I had to up the Northbridge for 1.37v for 1000MHz

I'd drop those other voltages back down to stock which should reduce your PWM temperatures a little. Then you could prob try for 3.6 and still be in decent temperatures.

Just a thought!
 
Waves @ IceWolf :) 7 years, my how time flies. Great set up you have there m8. I have the BFG 8800GTX OC2 also, flying through everything except Crysis (still plays it on Very High settings just:cool:) If you are going raid I think you have to install the Jmicron installation disk, and the Sata drivers (not sure of the order). I didn't set up in raid so I haven't installed any of those drivers. Install the latest drivers linked from this thread. I am sure somebody that set up in Raid can put you right.

@young. Not sure where you are getting the info from bud, but I only increased my vcore for my overclock. I had it up to 3.5Ghz stable but I was not happy with my temps, 60----65 c Core temp and 65c PWM, and I also needed my Tuniq fan on full speed which made a bit of a row. my ram is running @ 12,4,4,4 1:1 378Mhz manufacturers recommended DDR2 v of 2.1. Anything over 400mhz with those timings and voltage and it won't boot into windows so I left it for a while ;) I am now running @ 3.4Ghz, core temps 50ish under load and my Tuniq on low speed :cool:
 
thanks for the quick reply :) i managed to download all the drivers from the thread. Also got the latest nvidia drivers. Gonna wait on Crysis till this bad boy is bedded in and ready to overclock in 2 weeks (Mass Effect on 360 tomorrow anyhow)

It will also give me time to get used to Vista and the new setup. Got the Crysis and UT3 demos though - might get latest 3d mark for a laugh - probably will use to compare the oc on the CPU.

I am hoping to run at stock initially then go to 400 fsb with an 8 or 9 times multiplier for a 3.2ghz or 3.6Ghz clock speed. :)

I imagine i'll be back on here for voltage suggestions around then :p

The setting you need to be upping for cpu voltage one notch at a time between prime runs is cpu core voltage. Select voltages control and then change it to user defined, this gives you control of all the other voltages settings. DDR2 voltage is the setting for your ram voltage. This should operate at the manufacturers recommended figure usually between 1.8---2.3 as an example.

It was ^ that I was refering to, it shows the ICH etc at above their stock voltages... or is that not yours?
 
Hey guys - great thread.

I got the IP35 pro last friday and it's all installed and up. I read through the posts tonight and that's sorted out my problem - stupid cpu header lol. It wasn't running my 3 pin fan properly ; I thought it was just me 'almost tearing my hair out' now I know it's nothing I've done!:p

I hope they sort the issue out with a BIOS soon!
