Sort of the same with me really.

In my game I've had a few offers from some decent clubs, but unless I feel attracted to the club for one reason or another - then I just don't think I'd ever sign with them.

I always end up with Man Utd/Swansea or if I'm after a challenge Newport County.

If AC Milan or Real Madrid came knocking then I'd probably join though.

But when you spend four years game time building a squad with one team, and get from Division 1 to the Premiership... You've build your squad, it's my team now and would feel weird leaving. :o
 
Just me of have they completely knackered up corners since the 8.0.1 patch? All my corners either have the corner taker hit it in some kinda loop shot so it hits the side netting for a goal kick, or a player charges the near post and heads it miles off target.
 
Not just me then. Phew! :o

I don't get the former but I've not managed to score from a corner. I have Vidic or Pique set to stand on the near post for a flick on with the corner taker delivering the ball to the near post. Neither Vidic nor Pique have scored, they just knock it out for a goal kick EVERY time. Weird. :confused:

Edit - LOL. Vidic just scored his first goal. Headed in a corner. Should have moaned about this earlier. :D

The one where they just seem to slice the ball into the side netting? That one stopped for me with this patch.

The near post thing happens all the blinking time though. They're always heading it straight off the field, miles away from goal.

It's like the 'Near Post Flick On' option is going the wrong way? Rather than heading it towards the middle of the box, around the penalty area or into the six yard box - it ends up going in the opposite direction :confused:

The near post headers don't even come close to the goal :-/
 
To kinda get rid of it a bit I've set my players to not be on the near post, and have them in the box or providing a short option. Also told corners to be aimed at the target men/best header... which for me is good as my strikers are both over 6 foot and 15+ in heading/jumping :)
 
Ack sorry, got mixed up with my free kicks as I set them at the same time. For corners I've got Penalty Area / 6 Yard Box from left/right and no players on the near post. Still getting players head the ball behind at the near post but it seems less.

Also wanted to mention that those tips that appear when the game loads look really good tips but I can never read them fast enough before they disappear... Well I googled and found a large list of them:

Yeah I have been experiencing problems with corners since the patch. I had a cracking defender on loan for me last year with Rusen and Diamonds had him at the front post think he scored 8 goals for me. Since the patch I never score they always go wide so I adjusted this to 'Penatly area' and I've scored one or two since. On the other hand I seem to concede a goal from a corner every game.

Updat on progress - haven't had much time to play but finished my first season as Rushden and Diamonds manager. Won the league and had a decent cup run, in the FA trophy that is!

Just started new season in League two quite well with a great comeback against the mighty Hereford and then a week later we had a giant killing when we beat Torquay 3 nil at home - get in!

The best way to score in the lower leagues it seems is to have a fast striker with great finishing as the target man and just supply him with through balls. He'll get 10 chances and pop 1 or 2 of them around. Simeon Jackson is doing that for me at the moment.

Got a huge essay in for next monday which i'm just starting so don't know how much i'll get to play but it'll be there waiting for me when i'm available. :)
 
Started a game as Napoli,doing okay so far. signed up one of those Barca players mentioned in this thread, the left winger. Napoli also start with Hamsik, and Lavezzi so should be fun.

brought in Ignasichev and Marko rehmer for some defensive stability!
 
I resigned from my Chelsea job after winning the title 2 out of the 3 seasons. Also won the FA Cup once, Carling Cup twice and the CL twice.

Got an approach from Roma and decided to take it. They have gave me £33M to spend and already have some good players signed up. Fred from Lyon and Lucas from Liverpool to name a few.

Wonder how I'll get on with this :)
 
i really want to get this, but since 06, the games just been too hard for me, unless i was a big team, no matter what tactics and settings i chose i just couldnt win, thats in 06/07 and the 08 demo. 05 was fine, i came second in the prem with middlesbourgh!

Yeah it's near impossible really, it's really frustrating sometimes as the game is very appealing and is a great game - but it's just so damn hard to play. Kinda wish they had a difficulty setting on it, which would just make the AI better/worse with it's tactics specifically so we could pick. Lots say it's easy, lots say it's hard but I find it mega hard even with Sunderland who I'd say I know inside out :/

Playing Sunderland at the moment and played 20 games, won 4, drew 8, lost 8. Finding it overly hard.
 
I just stepped down as Man Utd manager after 2 years in charge. I won the Premiership and Champions league twice in a row. Community Shield winners once and the FA Cup runners up once. I felt I could'nt go further with the team.

Ive just looked at the possible jobs. Jol was under pressure. I enquired about the job, they sacked Jol. Now they want me as manager. Offering me a 2 year contract, £27m to spend. They do want to be title challengers after the 2nd season. Not sure about another team in the premiership though, could do with something different.

I want a large European club to come onto the list, stating that thier manager is under pressure so I can enquire about the job :)
 
I tend to stay with a club for 2-3 seasons then look for abnother job, however the other job could be a big european team or a fallen giant, either appeals to me :p

started a fresh game with bayern munich using SCM3 tactic however very heavily modified now to try and score goals, seems to be working but want more time in testing before i think about releasing it to anyone :p
 
I have finally managed to sort out the old tactic i was using and it works better now. There seems to be a game engine issue with closing down in team instructions and player instructions, so turned off the player instructions and seems to be a lot better. There is still the issue of dodgy defending at times and AI strikers being just too good at times but so far with the revised tactic i havent lost in the league this season.

Will upload it again to my webpage later tomorrow want to test it just a bit more.

Iago? I recommended him ages back, quality player, and only gets better.
 
Appied for the Argentina job, they refused me.

Spurs hired Louis van Gaal hten sacked him after 8 games :p They keep pestering me now for the job, keep offering me contracts. I refuse them all the time but they just keep coming back for more.
 
Lol yea, Ignasichev from CSKA didnt spot him on a free till i read it here. Shame he got injured in his debut!

and same with Iago yep Twinblade, cost me 1.6 at the start of the game so not bad.

juist have to make the rest of my team good now, my most valuable player is Zalayeta who doesnt score goals and is only on loan to me:/
