I had a moan on the bfg forums claiming they haven't even tested the cards properly and have just used bad clockers for oc models and they locked the thread.

BFG are great in my experience.

Use their RMA system via the website, it's very efficient, and they'd have it turned around inside a week, subject to having stock.

What you seem to be saying is that you haven't tried overclocking it, just left it at the factory pre-overclock levels, and with those stock settings it artifcacts and crashes?

If so, then it's RMA time.

This is just a bit of friendly advice though woozy, try not to be as all over the place when dealing with your RMA as you are on here! :)

As you've only had the card a few days, OCUK should replace it for you, but as you know stock levels are an issue so it might be quicker to go through BFG direct.

Re the Distance selling act, you've got 7 working days starting the day after you received the goods (or in your case, the day after they were delivered to the address that OCUK shipped too) to give notice that you want to return them, so that's an option still for you I think if you don't get satisfaction using the other routes.

BFG GT's only completely compatible drivers at the moment are the 169.02's........anything above and my BFG has freezing / artifacts but the .02's are perfect :)

i sent off a support ticket detailing my lockup prob and stating that im using the 169.02 drivers.

Got a lengthy reply back basically giving me a step by step guide as to how to download the same driver from the nvidia website and to install them.

:( reminds me of another forum i post on that.

M8s just got a BFG OC2 Wonder if he's getting the same kind of problems ?

It can't be coincidence that 6 people (so far) in this thread have the same problem. Looks like those cores weren't tested properly, since temps seem ok.

NOT true ...

if within first 12 months then OCUKs responsibility for RMA

how long it will take is another matter -but your contract is with OCUK not with BFG

Mark.

BFG, though if you just got your card, then it will still be under the seven days long distance selling act, you can return it for a full refund or replacement.

Could be the memory thats the problem, for me anyways.

ive lowered it back to stock and havent had any lockups today, got my core at 700.

Id surgest u rma as quick as possible with the stock like it is as they may not get you one back before christmas if you leave it to late. Also you may be able to do a deal with ocuk where they tell you when they got one so you dont send it off and have no card.

yeah done some extensive playing with games and the memory unclocked to 900 and fan at max with rivatuner and i havent had any lockups

I do now have an RMA number from overclockers though

will call them on monday and ask how long i have to wait as it was about 4 weeks just to get this one :(

if i had the money i would be tempted to just get a third party cooler and some memory heatsinks and just keep it

Third party cooler and some sinks are gonna cost you what.....£30?

I slapped an Accelero S1 and a 120mm fan on my bog standard Leadtek and it happily plays along at 702/1728/999(2K). That was the 2nd OC I tried and it looks like it'll do more.

Like I said in the 8800GT Stock thread...........LEADTEK ALL THE WAY !!!! ;)

I've had the same lock-ups on any oc of my OC2. Artifacts and crashes requiring a reboot.

Temps never get over 60' on the die.

Revert to stock settings and it runs all day or so I thought... It isn't actually any better with the standard clocks either, and I'll be damned if I want to revert an OC2 to standard OC clocks just to get stability.

I'll stick with mine at the moment at standard clocks, since my last card was a 7600gt this is a huge step forward already (3dmark06 3300 on 7600gt - 14000 on 8800gt), and see how I get on.

Nor should you have to pay to fix it.

The card is faulty, return it to OcUK and get one that works.

You shouldn't have to pay anything to return something that doesn't work at stock speeds, that includes shipping.

i do not know what to do

i may keep it as it has been running good with the memory unclocked at 900 and get a cooler when i get some money

or should i return it but i may have to wait ages again
