January Transfer Window

The Wes Brown situation is worrying me - he may not be the best left back in the world but imo he has come on leaps and bounds since last season because he has played a lot more regularly

Simpson is great and deserves his place as an understudy and to get a few starts, but would be too much pressure on him this early to be a regular starter and a huge gamble to rely on GN making it back to full fitness after all his health issues recently.

What happens if WB gets an injury for 6 weeks or so? No one else at the club who is a natural RB (even though Pique, Hargreaves, OShea - currently injured , can all play there - personally thought Pique was really awful when he had to play there earlier this season)

Do we buy a LB for cover for Evra and a RB and sell WB rather letting him leave on a Bosman in the summer?

Looks like Chelsea have signed their very own Crouch in the form of 'Argentinian Wonderkid' Franco Di Santo for @£4m and the Anelka train is gathering steam too with Grant reportedly saying he's signed him, that'll put the shivers up the rest of Europe.

He can't do any worse than Pizarro and Shevchenko I guess, just I've never liked him and can't work out why if he's really any good so many teams don't mind seeing the back of him:)

:D Man UTD are reported to be looking at Lahm, who is the player I suggested we buy in the thread about being able to buy anyone...
A coincidence? Surely not

Anyone else heard this change in Uefa rules (as of last/this season) where a club can transfer one player in Jan if they have already played for a different club in a different UEFA Cup cometition

IE If the rumour is true, Man Utd could buy & register and play Berbatov in the CL (as he has only played in the Uefa Cup) but we couldnt register Ronaldinho)

Proviso is that one team can do it for only a single player in Jan

I think it was soccerlens or somewhere where I read it earlier today

that's the rule yeah. you can register a few players for next stage but only one could have played in the uefa cup.
