Motorway cops - cops out of order?

The cops pulled them over on suspicion that it was a stolen vehicle, whether this was due to his age I am not quite sure but he had dodgy plates on.

They were pulled for filling up and then driving off without paying - an offence that was later dropped.

That kid really needed a good shoeing though, he had a really really bad attitude, and I’d personally go as far as to call him scum, for the way he was speaking to those officers.

His whole argument about having 14 days to change the plates was just stupid, as the office rightly said, any decent member of society would have done it straight away, but that kid was just like "well I have 14 days"; this was 7 days after being issued the ticket.

I think the cops had a job to do, but were unfair on issuing this fine and also didn't want to admit the error they made on pulling him over and acting the way they did.

I agree, they have a job to do, but I don’t think they were unfair in issuing a fine, granted, the fact the kid riled them probably caused this as much as the plate still not being fixed.

What error on pulling him over though? They got a call to say the car had driven off without paying, how were they supposed to know if they had/had not have done this?

As for “acting the way they did”, the police are only human mate, if you have some arrogant little twonk in your face like that, calling you all the names under the sun, you’ll bound to take a harsher approach to them.

Scort.

CBA to read all 3 pages, but the guy was a **** and deserved the fine, you don't drive about with knowingly bad plates not paying for petrol. All he had to do when pulled over was be polite and not give the cops lip. It looked like he was playing up for the camera at times, and as already said driving a Type-R at 18 he is probably a spoilt brat (certainly didn't look like an intelligent, successfull business man or anything!).

Chances are he thought ohh 14 days of free petrol and no speeding tickets!

Think he rented it, that's why the plates were wrong - he said it was a rental car issue iirc.

Scort.

if you treat people with respect you will get it back..if you mouth off at the police you will get a fine

The guy was literally dragged from HIS car, ruffed up and then thrown in the back of the cop car. He was treated with no respect whatsoever.

Why should he sit there and say 'yes sir no sir'?

Plus the **** of a copper with the glasses was provoking him, bang out of order!

He dressed his car up to look like a stolen motor, he brought it on himself.

Just watching this again.
Well firstly he wouldn't stop, committed offences while being chased and had to be pulled over.
He wouldn't get out of the car and when he did he pushed the copper and thats before anything else happened.
I thought they let him off lightly.

The officer did ask him first to get out of the car, IIRC.

Wrong, the copper approached the car, grabbed his arm and attempted to drag him from the vehicle, the lad pulled away (naturally). The copper then said "get out of the vehicle before i drag you out" and grabbed him again as he tried to exit the vehicle.

What are you talking about?

He stopped when the officers said.
The only offence he committed was having dodgy plates
He got out of the car by himself, as he stood up, the police offer grabbed him once more and pulled him violently.

If anyone was playing up to the camera it was that ***** of a copper.

2 instances in that show that sum up the difference in attitudes in a lot of drivers.

The young lad in the civic, complete plank and seeing as the camera was there decided to play up. He was on dodgy plates, he shouldn't be teararsing around everywhere on them. They should be changed at the earliest opportunity.

The older guy on the bike pulled for speeding, polite with the officer and listened to him, got off with a warning (even though he was doing 90-95mph)

Difference being good manners will usually get you further than bad ones.

Completely agree.

Although the bike segment got me into a bit of trouble with the mrs. I'd convinced her that the blackbird was basically just a tourer lol, then that copper starts going on about it being hugely powerful, 95mph not even trying etc etc......I had a bit of explaining to do :o

I'll give you the first observation.
Copper says "We're going for a stop now" and puts on the sirens and lights.
The car does pull over immediately.

At the car the copper says "get out of the vehicle before I drag you out" because the lad refused to get out.
He then drags him out and says "You're on the motorway (inaudible) I suspect that the vehicle maybe stolen and you've just committed an offence, at this moment you are under arrest for suspicion of a (inaudible)".
Copper explains off camera that he's on the hard shoulder on the outside of the car right next to the first lane and the lad is pushing him and he's got to think about the safety of both of them.

They originally stopped him because he was reported not paying for his petrol.

The lad was a complete and utter prat.

Just watched this on iPlayer, and I now have to agree, the kid was an idiot. Fair enough the copper was quite curt with him but he just compounded the situation by being as obtuse and unhelpful as possible.

Immature yes, moron no.

The police officer didn't handle the situation very well and could have killed both of them.

The officer had every reason to suspect the kid was a car theif at the point he removed him from the vehicle.

He was driving a car knowingly on fake plates!

I don't see the lad push the copper once, once he is out of the car, both of his arms are in the air for the whole duration.

Which he was cleared of.

Jesus, you won't give up will you?

He pushed him as he was dragging him out (I'm watching it again)

He was first reported for not paying for his petrol.
While on the Motorway the police did a check and the plates came back wrong.
The Police thought the car was stolen.
They reported what they were going to do and even mentioned the road conditions and weather.
They pulled him over.

At that point as far as they were concerned it was a stolen car where the driver hadn't paid for his petrol.
It doesn't matter what happened after that because they had every right to treat him like they did.
Thank goodness he wasn't in America because he would probably have had a bullet in his head for his behaviour.
