Just received my 24" and it seems fine. A massive improvement on my old 17" TFT. Glad I didn't go for a 20" TFT.

Can you tilt the stand on this?

Also what are the best OSD settings?

Hi there

It would appear some of our stock was contanimated with about 50 units or so of none PVA type panels.

All the models are now labelled L2442WD however as we've discovered from people RMA'ing items back we've been shipped about 50 units that are actually TN based with a glossy screen.

All of this incorrect stock has now been removed and will be setup under a new product code and sold off cheaply in our clearance/sale section for around £160+VAT, still a bargain for a 24" panel with DVI.

The way to tell them apart easily is the fact the VA panels are more of a matt finish screen and have excellent viewing angles. The TN version has a glossy screen and much poor vertical viewing angles.

DGM have apologised greatly for this to both ourselves and to pass it onto our customers, they are ensuring that OcUK stock will not become contanimated again and that all OcUK orders will only recieve VA type panels from now on.

So if you feel you have TN type panel, very easy to tell due to glossy screen and poor vertical viewing angles just call our tech team for an RMA as they are aware of the problem now and will issue you an RMA immediately and cover your shipping the product back to us and ourselves sending you the new product out.

Once again sorry, but we've now sold over 3000 of these units and this is the first time we've had this issue and DGM assure me they won't let it happen again as its only OcUK they ship VA type panels too now because were there only customer who request that particular panel and our demand is more than enough for what they can produce. :)

So is this a TN panel or not? The gradient isn't as bad as a 19" one to the right but is there, but noted the very reflective/glossy screen.

Edit: the box states 180/180* viewing angels though.

Well I seem to have received a glossy panel, but it seems fine and no dead pixels etc... The first one I received was a Matt panel, but wouldn't run at native resolution off the DVI port, and it also had a dead pixel.

Gibbo, is there any chance of a refund for the difference? I am happy to keep this panel... so rather than send it back etc...

Edit: see below...

There was a sticker on the inside of the panel that you can read through the vents above the VGA/DVI sockets.

Mine shows:

Manufactured: 06/33
Model: M240UW01 v.0
AU Oproni 08
Made in Taiwan M1

Here's some more info I posted earlier in the thread from the AU Optics site

24"WS Models

AUO P-MVA M240UW01 V0 1920x1200 8ms G2G 1000 : 1 500 178/178 16.7m
AUO AMVA M240UW01 V2 1920x1200 10ms 1000 : 1 300 178/178 16.7m 72%
AUO AMVA M240UW01 V4 1920x1200 6ms G2G 1000 : 1 400 178/178 16.7m 92%
AUO TN Film M240UW04 V1 1920x1200 5ms 1000 : 1 450 160/160 16.7m 92%

I've found the AUO full datasheet on the M240UW01 V0 panel in case anyone wants the full tech details here with everything you would ever want to know :)

Gibbo,

I've got the glossy screen which i believe is TN based, Can OCuk not drop off the proper unit and collect the one i have now?
Its a headache packaging it up and arranging for it to be picked up...........makes no sense at all.
