***Official*** 9800GX2 thread (reviews and benches inside)

only thing that annoys me atm with the 8x series, is nvidia purevideo problems with aero in vista. Shame they skipped it for the 8x series and had it fixed plus added features for the 9x series. :(

the GX2 looses any advantages as soon as you run at high res with filters.... which i thought was the only situation whereby someone would actually buy this card?

Err no it dont. Go look at the Anandtech review. Or get some common sense...

I can run COD4 at 2560x1600 with 4XAA and 8xAF and still get higher frame rates than i get on my GTX with no AA/AF.

Will you stop going on about double standards, if you see something that we don't and you feel it breaks rules then RTM it.

im not sure why people are buying this card now, when theres a thread on this forum about NVidia's GT200 and ATI's HD4000 series...that appears to be coming sooner than expected

Now that these stop gaps are out the way we can get onto the real steak and chips.

Bring on the GT200.

Spending £400 on one of these is pure insanity.

$878 for this card, I'm sorry, but the performance jump is too low, market too weak and economy to low to go demanding such a price. Your more or less forcing people to not upgrade from their 8000 series card.

Bring on R700 I say

Damn Nivida fan boys. :p

The thing is if these new cards from the big N and ATI are only a few months away the top end cards are going to be cheaper than this thing.

On another note was it xfx's turn to give out review samples or something? Most of the reviews so far seem to use an xfx branded card.

Wow talk about a post smacking of arrogance. You "knew" the performance would be as good as this? Yeah i have to say looking at 8800gt sli reviews and taking a few percent off the framerates must take clairovoyant powers on the same level as mystic meg.

As for the last part of your post, wise up.

Yawn. As already mention in the post you replied to some people like myself dont want 2 noisy cards, or dont have a nvidia chipset board for SLI. So if i was to buy two GT's i'd have to pay 100+ for a good board which would bring the cost up to more than what i payed for the GX2. And i still wouldn't have as good performance with the GT's.

And yeah i knew the performance would be as good as this, as it was obvious.

<sarcasm>HMM a card with two G92 cores just like on the G92 GTS's... oh i wonder how that's gunna perform in comparison to two GTS's in SLI.... </sarcasm >
